Big difference
A 29 is able to contribute in the hard raid being only one level below most enemys.
A 26 is almost useless in normal raid, and is usually a liability, being 2 levels below most enemies.
The biggest problem with what you are saying is that a level 29 is topped out, and trying to level up the only way possible, by getting new gear.
If you are 26, you can level up quite easily, you just need shards and one exotic to get to 29.
I have finished the raid with a 24 on the team, but he knew he was being carried, and just stayed out of the way, and didn't die.
And yeah you may be able to do fine in the raid at 26, but not everyone playing the game is aware of your impressive skills, they just have a number to go by, and the higher that number is, the more willing other players will be to bring you in.
I know where you are coming from tho, i "wasted" shards on my alt characters legendary gear to get them to 28......just makes it all much easier.
You arent going to change anything by posting about it, so yeah you may get lucky and fall into a good group, but you will probably have to suck it up and level up, or just stay mad i guess.

Unless u personally know the person has skills, why risk it? Btw the dmg diff between 29 and 30 ranges closer to 30% not 20. I did 273 on gatekeeper as 29, 408 at 30, tested it out last raid. (This is on hard with voc)

Was with you until the second bit about lvl 26. The further into the raid you go, the higher the level of the enemies.

26 is fine for normal they just can't pick up the relic when you reach atheon. A 29 in the hard raid is in my eyes an unnecessarily weak link. If i had a level 29 friend its ok cause they are my friend but if i was putting together a random group i wouldn't want one. personally didn't even want to attempt hard raid until level 30.

Oracles/Templar, enemies are 26. Gatekeeper, enemies are 27. Atheon, enemies are 28. Only thing I'm not 100% sure about is when the enemies change from 25->26. May happen at oracles or Templar. As such, they are only two levels under for Atheon, one level under for Gatekeeper, and on level for the rest. Ergo, the only time a 26 is unable to contribute as much as or more than a 29 in hard is at the Atheon fight. I ask this because, in many ways, shards are just as much in RNGeesus' hands as raid gear is.

28 is only for atheon. . Or gatekeepers as well i can't remember. I did the raid on 25 just fine

not mad. and i may not be able to change the world with this post but i can start a small ripple and hope that it continues on and causes someone else to make another ripple and soon enough things will start to change. every great thing in this world started from 1 person then moved into a small group then got bigger and bigger. standing up trying to make a difference is better then sitting down and watching it fall apart.

nope i don't have a quote book. i made all the up in my head. if it is a copy of someone else's quote then i must have heard or read it before and it got into my subconscious and popped out here.
