The raid and IB both have their own skill sets which need to be conquered, so neither, IMO, can claim to be better then the other. The fact of the matter though, is that getting raid gear, no matter how dominating you were or how much you were carried, is simply down to luck, where as getting it in IB was down to shear determination. Facts are facts.
I've enjoyed the raid and am in no way knocking it, but after my first two raids with my Titan (where I got the chest piece and boots respectively), I've gotten no gear. My Warlock got the gauntlets & boots and nothing else with only my Hunter getting a set that could be complimented with an exotic.
I've not done the raid as much as others, but have spoken to and read the post of those who've done dozens of raids and still have not been fully blessed by RNG--this is wrong. With IB, though, I took my lickings and got boots and gauntlets for all three of my charcters. No praying to RNGesus, just sheer sweat and tears...and that's how it should be.
And, BTW, not to sure about the Titan & Warlock gear (though the Warlock IB gauntlets are dope), but the Hunter IB gear is far and away better looking then the raid gear. Those boots alone are sexy as f*ck.
