I have suggestion for a new pre/post-end game mode where the maps are of course going to be large, but hear me out with this. This is a horde/survival style gamemode where a fireteam of 1-6 people can participate in. The enemies will range from the level of the lowest leveled player on the fireteam, to the highest leveled player, with the option to play this gamemode opening up at around level 16/17. Here is how the waves will be set up (Using the Fallen as an example, as well as being primary enemies on earth maps):
Wave 1: Will consist of about 100 Dregs and 25 Vandals. Wave 2: Will consist of 125 Dregs, 50 Vandals, and 10 Captains. Wave 3: Will consist of 150 Dregs, 75 Vandals, 15 Captains and 30 Shanks. Wave 4: Will consist of 175 Dregs, 100 Vandals, 20 Captains, 60 shanks, 3 Servitors, and about 5 Vehicles depending on map. Wave 5: Will consist of 175 Dregs, 100 Vandals, 20 Captains, 60 shanks, 3 servitors, and only 3 vehicles, with a boss that has health and attack depending on player count past 3 players (150K health will increase by 15% per player, meaning 4 Players will increase it to 160,000 Health). The boss can be either a Kell, Servitor, or Fallen Walker. After Wave 5/10/15/20/Etc, a random modifier will be added, and the enemies are all doubled from their first appearance, as well as 1/4 of them will be ultras or majors with a yellow health bar, and glimmer is only earned through killing 100 of them, with a whopping 500 Glimmer per hundred (or 50). The Ultras and Major count will increase by 1/4 until all enemies are all Majors or ultras, meaning the last 5 waves will be a true fight for survival.
For the possible exploits and reward chances, I have already taken the liberty to account for everything below, so read if you wish. The game mode will allow you to get Raid type gear or exotics depending on said factors, so click the spoiler if you wish, or go ahead and continue to the rest of the topic below.
The chance to get raid gear by default will be about a good 3.25% with no kills or no deaths. For every death, the chance decreases by 0.005% to get raid gear, and for every 550 kills, you get about an added 0.6% at the end. For every assist, it counts as half a kill. A person with 10 assists, will only have a count of 5 kills should the game end there. For every 1000 kills, they earn an added 5% chance to get a legendary engram. Should they survive a total of 10 waves straight without dying, they will get a higher drop rate of rare engrams for 12 hours. Should they survive all 25 waves without dying, they are given a gift in the mail, with a chance at legendary engrams, similar to how you would from the cryptarc. Should you survive 10 waves without anyone on your fireteam dying, you all get a random gift, ranging of uncommon to legendary engrams. Should you survive 25 waves without anyone on your fireteam dying, you get an achievement (the first time around), as well as a higher chance to get a legendary when decrypting a rare or uncommon engram, as well as a higher drop rate for legendaries. Should you activate a game with 25-30 hard mode, the enemies double, and you are given better rewards. For every player you have past 3 players, the enemy count goes up by 30%, and you are automatically given a modifier per player. Glimmer is only earned through the normal glimmer boosts at a 50% lower rate, and you only earn 500 glimmer for every 50 major or ultra killed.
The gamemode should be called "Unstoppable Onslaught" and should have a random esc playlist such as you must defend a certain point for 25 waves, or you have to defend a group of civilians locked in a small bunker. Gamemodes for Unstoppable Onslaught:
Power Struggle: Defend up to 3 Generators from being destroyed by near unstoppable forces of enemies. The Generators can be healed by defensive supers such as Bubble shield and the Warlock's sunsinger ability. Settle Down: Defend a group of Civilians and their bunker from near unstoppable forces of enemies. You will not be able to heal the bunker yourself, but every 5 rounds, the bunker will heal itself should the worker civilian still be alive. Eyes and Ears: Defend a listening station from a near unstoppable Force of enemies. These stations cannot be healed by traditional standards. Invasion: Assault an enemy stronghold and hold it on your own. Wave 1 through 5 will consist of almost 3 objectives to take over a Vex/Fallen/Cabal/Hive stronghold, and the rest of the waves will consist of survival. No respawns, and your teammates can only revive you between waves. Power Play: Work together or attack each other in this deathmatch PvP style survival where the boss every 5 waves is the other team. Shadow Movement: It's a darkness vs. light where the enemies you fight against are Guardians that have betrayed the Traveler's cause. Destroy the betrayers. Can be played with a random Objective style mode. Default: Just survive all 25 waves, with the default rules. Endless: Survive a limitless amount of waves as you fend off hundreds, and maybe thousands of enemies to survive and progress.
Now how do you feel about this? Answer in the poll above.
