It was quite a shock realizing that exotic armor comes with rng stats. Do you guys know if even the stat type STR/DISC/INT can varry???

I knew this a week after I got my first exotic helmet. Oh how Bungie fail to listen to my cries for help on this matter. Exotics should not have different stats at all. It'll only make people re-buy and replace their own exotics and wasting shards to max it once again. And when the stats are below average I don't even want to keep it. No matter how cool the exotic is.

Yes stats are random perks are all the same but don't get confused if its a piece of armor that is supposed to boost intellect then that's all it will ever be, you cannot get discipline or strength from a exotic which main attribute is intellect.
-
Yes they can, that's why so many titans were upset the second week armaterium was on sale (it had better stats the second time)

This game is set up exactly like a slot machine every thing in the game is random except for the controls

ok thx for the exhaustive info, really appreciate it. anyone knows what are the possible stat ranges on equips, I mean like example that helm, one is 87 second 106, how far can they go (is the a common limit like helmets till +140 etc or depends on specific gear)? btw got both from xur engram, so Im going to buy alot more if theres a chance to get better

Every piece of armor is RNG. Stats vary on every single item. Do you even pay attention?

Edited by FSimser: 11/25/2014 11:55:42 AMYep, dropped gear, weapons and armor, is RNG stats and perks. Even legendary items sold by the vanguard/crucible vendors are RNG if you get them from a drop/reward/engram. Pretty sweet, eh? It's how people end up with some really terrific perks on legendary vendor gear; they got it as a drop rather than buying it.

I think it's any gear that is dropped rng rather than vendor.
