Why does it matter. Apart from the level specific missions level 30 has no bearing on anything related to skill. Congrats on your 30 dude but i really dont see what the fuss is about. I will max out at 29, my warlock is already maxed & just my other 2 to go, i wont be attempting 30 because i dont play raids or pvp. it doesnt matter what anyone thinks as long as you are happy, enjoy.

Thanks dude, I can understand why some people choose not to play raids or PvP. Part of getting to 30 for me was to be able to do more hard raids as being 29 sucks. The other part was to be a completionist and just say you achieved an endgame rank. Destiny IMO is a very good game that keeps sucking you back. I went back to GTA for a bit and with the terrible servers, bolted straight back to this game.
(...) dont play raids or pvp.
The raid is easily the best piece of gameplay in this otherwise extremely repetitive ("Groundhog Day in space") experience. And that is by a mile. It's exciting and it has this certain kind of magic and wonder which I actually wanted to see in the rest of the game. Unfortunately it's the only journey/ adventure Destiny has to offer. If it wasn't for the raid I would have quit the game a lot (!) earlier. I'll get the pvp part. Competitive FPS + controller = hideous. So, "no". The raid: you're missing out.

  • The raid requires a 6 man team & communication & considering that those 2 things are not something i wanna partake in then raids are a no go.

  • I in the same boat as you. Are you getting the DLC? If we do will we always just be level 29?

  • i wasnt gonna get the dlc but my buddy is giving me an expansion code for a xmas present so i will have the dlc. As for my level im not really bothered about always being level 29 as level is irrelevant to me. As long as i can play the parts of the game that appeal to me then im not bothered. I play games for fun, not to see how high i can get my level.

Takes too long, I cant imagine sitting in the same mission for an hr+. Thats why i play strikes, 10-15 mins & on to the next. If i was to play raid id want a guaranteed exotic/raid gear, im not gonna sit in there for an hr just to get shards/energy like so many other ppl have done.

  • Just beating Atheon for the first time was one of my most satisfying gaming experiences. Regardless of what drops you get the experience itself can be very rewarding (and frustrating).

  • Its not like sitring in the same mission though. Each part of the raid is almost like its own seperate mission. Its really fun, dont knock it till you try it man.

  • its just not for me. Add to that the fact that i only game solo & always will do, the raid is someplace i,ll never go.

  • I feel you on that. I try and run nightfalls and weeklys on solo if at all possible. It allows me to play the strikes how I want to play them and not having to worry about rambo teammates getting killed every couple minutes.
