"I earned level 30" -_-
After countless hard mode raids only to be rewarded weapons, ships and energy I was ready to quit this game. No thanks to RNGesus, I'll be reaching lv 30 by tomorrow morning. To everyone hating on the IB. Blow me! The sense of self entitlement in this community makes me sick.
Note ** I erased one of my level 29's to increase my chances at 30 with my Titan. Also it's my belief that hard mode is meant for level 30's with an acception of a 29 or two. With that said, beating VOG will be that much easier for me with a 20% boost in damage output.

Meanwhile, I joined a group of people for 5 mins the first time and got in just as a chest was availible..... I got a chest plate. Then I got disconnected by a caterpillar. The only other 2 times I've actually played the VoG I helped with the templar fight... Didn't know what I was doing, just shooting enemies.. ended up with the boots. I also, joined a atheon fight towards the end, by the time I had a few supplicant kills it was pretty much over, ended up with the epilogue AR. Outside of that I've been in a few times but only as far as the first chest or so.. So yeah, earning is BS (and the silliest argument on here)... Total of maybe 45 mins.. and have three pieces. Then I do countless strikes, a weekly now and again, one nightfall a while back...Couple weeks later I buy somethin nice for the lady (robot).. I'll let you have a guess as to what took more work..

Getting to level 30 is a challenge either way. To those who think ib armor is for scrubs, it's not. I think the most impressive player will have a mix of ib and raid gear

2 Repliesi got level 30 with both my hunter and my warlock via raid gear. i still plan on getting some IB gear on my hunter because it has better stats. Gear is gear. if it works for you, use it. Getting to level 30 doesn't mean you have skill like so many people seem to think. I'd gladly take a level 28 who knows what theyre doing to a hard raid than a 30 who doesn't know how to use the damn relic. anyways congrats on 30 man!

Congrats! You got the 30 light gear after playing the IB for a few hours, hard work sure pays of! Getting the best gear and weapons is supposed to be HARD and not EVERYONE is supposed to have the best gear, ruins the point of a MMORPG.

4 RepliesA lot of people saying IB is "the easy road" and hating on the gear. Well, on my main (hunter),I'm keeping my raid set. On my Titan and Warlock, I'm going to mix in Iron Banner gear with my Raid gear simply bc I enjoy showing off that I conquered the Raid and the Iron Banner. ^.^ I will have gear that all the kiddies that get this game for Xmas won't be able to obtain for a while. ;3

Yeah I really don't understand why people get pissy about people reaching level 30 through IB, its not like RNG is a really effective way to give loot, if anything, the IB grinding for a week is more "earning it" than random drops

3 RepliesThank you Bungie for Iron Banner. People hate, but I know it's just grinding mixed with a little luck that gets you to lvl30. My main had been stuck at lvl 29 FOREVER it seems. My alt even got to 30 3 weeks into her existence! Got lucky on her I guess, but no gloves for my Titan.... Then comes iron banner and 10 or so hours of grinding later, I am lvl 30! It's nice to see that Bungir provided a way of getting to 30 outside of luck for those of use unfortunates... Feels good to be going into the dlc with my main at 30. It's funny too, cause my sister made a Titan 2 weeks ago, ran through the raid at lvl 26 once with me and got both the boots (6 raids for me) and the gauntlets (31 raids and counting...) both on her first lvl 26 run!!!!! Lol, lucky her. Not mad though, just excited for her :). Although, I must say, however you end up at 30. You totally earned it! Those of us that took 400 hours earning it rather than 100 or however many just earned it a little harder ;) Now if only IB will last a second week I'll get my lvl 28 warlock to 30 also!! People complain but I respect you Bungie. Very nice game. Very professional feeling, super addictive and super fun! Keep up the good work! PS: could really use more vault space.. I don't wanna have to dismantle my exotics to make room for new ones :( Its like Pokemon.. I wanna get them all! Haha

I was thirty when I started IB. I earned my raid gear. I spent so much time raiding and setting my character up for success in the vault, Teaching team members strategy, I spent this week grinding IB up to rank five. I spent time maxing weapons and armor to be competitive in it. Soooo many PVP matches. Haha. Carrying players, losing due to an ineffective teammate, working on ways to combat a sea of fusion rifles and Suros's. Wether you got gear from the vault or the IB or both you've earned it in the eyes of this level 30 hunter. Congratulations.

I'm using iron banner gauntlets til I get raid gauntlets. I'm not very patient on this stuff and I'm not satisfied with 4 raids and only stuff from the first.

I've been staying at 29 and I haven't lost any sleep over it. Did normal Raid one time, and partial Raids a couple times. I walked away with 2 Corrective Measures, sucks getting a repeat but who cares. I friggin slay with that gun and I'll never get rid of it, WOOT!
