You are comparing two different games. Kind of like saying call of duty should take notes on mario party because theres not enough mini games and koopas.

I would love it if all those laser sights, bipods and other aesthetic things actually contributed to the weapon's performance. Being able to choose between upgrades in Aliens Colonial Marines was fun, it also had a direct impact on the weapon's appearance. I dislike the random perks in both Destiny and borderlands (and Diablo for the matter). It seems to be the new way of things though, which is a bummer. Regardless, additional customization would be great, even if it was just aesthetic.
