Actually my favorite thing to do is to take random VOG noobs and try to teach them how to do the raid. Sometimes, I run across really good teams by just random means. There are a lot of assholes that refuse to take noobs or who have no patience with them. Not to mention the people that are level 30 elitists in the hard mode. They forget that someone likely carried them through the normal raid the first time, and even if that is not the case, I guarantee someone carried them through the hard raid to enable them to hit 30. I always have to smh when I see 30s only on destinylfg.net
We would have more 30s if we took some 29s with us on every run. At least up to Atheon. However, I have seen some pretty quick Atheon clears with 2 and even 4 x 29s.
In the end, my point is that, I am all about random raiding. It can be aggravating at times, but meeting people is what makes this the game I continue to play.

speaking of random, just ran across this right now. me and 2 friends are new to VoG. 2 guys said they'd be willing to help, so we need just 1 more. i'd appreciate if you were the 6th man [: just looking for friendlies so the raid is fun and not an elitist sh*t talk fest

yessir. my bad, i should've asked. are you on xb360? here's a copy of the original post... dunno if the time is good for you. "me and 2 friends would like to do the raid. myself and one other have never done it, the last has some experience. friendlies, please! correct me if I'm wrong, but this is supposed to be fun. maybe around 9pm pacific starting on tuesday 12/23 and taking it in chunks around the same time til we finish. probably not on Christmas day though cuz.. yknow thanks guys!"

Actually you don't have to do the hard raid to get to 30

I didn't attempt hard mode till I had an exotic helm and full armor it's a breeze. Now I have like 20 different combinations of raid armor with different stats that can keep me at 30. Raid gear was never a challenge for me to get. This week I got 3 warlock raid chestpeices and a raid helm from a single hard raid. No -blam!-ing Mythoclast or fatebringer though........
