I'm kind of split down the middle after seeing the multiplayer gameplay for Halo 5

Ok, I'm sure all of you are too. We've all seen the gameplay for Halo 5: Guardians, as I'm sure most of us have had different thoughts on it. Some of us think that it could help to evolve Halo for next-gen, while a lot of others think that it could be even worse than Halo 4's multiplayer (and I do not believe we need any reminder how disappointing it was). As for me, I kind of think both... On the plus side, the new Spartan Abilities look really cool--with the exclusion of the new Smart Scope, which I will get to later. While the game may look like it's taking quite a few pages from Titanfall and Destiny, it is possible these could be both game changers AND ways to make Spartans feel more powerful than before. Secondly, they fixed the sprint feature so that you can now run for an infinite amount of time; the only disadvantage to this, however, is the fact that your shields will not recharge during this time. How this will affect gameplay, I'm not sure, but we'll probably find come the time for the beta in late December. The new maps look cool, too, especially the new "Crossfire" map. I don't think I like the "Empire" map, though, since it just looks like a lost Halo 4 map. They also seem to have gotten rid of Ordnance Drops, which will give players the better map control that 343 is trying to give players. On the downside, though, the new Smart Scope feature--or Aim Down Sights--really bothers me. I know what some people are saying that "Halo has always had ADS, it just didn't have the animation." The truth is it has never had ADS. Halo used to have just a zoom feature where if you tapped the right thumbstick you just zoomed in. You did not have to hold the thumbstick. With the new game, you have to hold down the left trigger to zoom in, and there is an animation for it. I'm not too big a fan of ADS and I've always felt that implementing it in Halo would destroy the franchise's core gameplay. But then 343 nearly did the latter with the previous game... They do seem to be trying to fix that problem though. The fact that you can be descoped from the ADS mode, barely seems relevant, too. I was actually somewhat okay with the developer removing descope in Halo 4, but I really think that if they wanted to bring it back, then they picked the wrong opportunity to do so. They might end up being asked to remove it for the final product, and I would hope that they do so. I do think these reasons are justifiable enough to make me feel somewhat worried about the next game in the Halo franchise. I really hope that 343 does a better job of considering the community's hopes for the next game. What about you, fellow people of #Gaming? Are you split down the middle, too? Hoping that 343 can do the franchise justice with H5G? Post in the thread and let me know.

 • I'm not going to come to conclusions until I play the beta. It kinda looks like advanced warfare 2, but people that have played it seem to think it stays true to core halo gameplay. At least there won't be loadouts or ordinance. I agree about being divided, but after the master chief collection there is no real reason to keep playing. It'll get old. I think best case scenario is that the ADS is just a new animation for zoom and all the changes just make it a little more fast pased. Or they will get rid of vehicles and do everything like halo 4 but worse and there will basically be another COD to buy but with shields.
