Well I agree and disagree. The raid is supposed to be end game content and theoretically designed for people who want to put the time in to the game. (Before everyone decides to look at my play time, yes I have two 30s but I do also have a job with the military so I do work as well.) I feel that this game caters quite a lot to casual players and with each update more so. In that regard anyone who doesn't have a lot of time to play should be glad to have the ability to reach the max level and not need to play 8 hours a day (like WoW, etc.) as it is with many other multiplayer online games. Is it unfortunate that some people can't play every day like others who can? Sure. But that doesn't necessarily mean they should remove aspects or change parts of the game to accommodate everyone. I still feel (crappy raid RNG aside) that hitting level 30 should have been a long term goal and something that casual players and hardcore players alike aspire to attain. As it is the system is designed to reward randomly instead of based on skill or time put into the game. You can't necessarily look at someone's gear and level and think wow they must have put hours in to get to where they are with there character(s). Especially since a person could do the raid once or twice and get the three pieces they need for 30 (take the guy on Xbox who was the first to get to 30). I do think the RNG system for the game (raid especially) is crap but I don't think that means they need to remove mats or whatever other items just to cater to everyone's needs. It shouldn't be expected that you get a piece of raid gear every time you do the raid. Coming from final fantasy there were plenty of times when I was doing weekly or daily end game content and my character might not even get the drop they needed to advance. Even if they did someone might roll on it to and end up rolling higher thus getting the item instead. I understand that the game relies on gear to attain the level cap (which is a silly set up in many ways) but that doesn't mean everyone should expect to be able to hit it. Especially after only doing the raid a few times. Overall the game setup is ok but my hope is that with the next dlcs they will make the raid RNG system (or the RNG system overall) a little more consistent and reliable. That or just reward some sort of currency for the raids (only after you complete every checkpoint/boss) and have a vendor for the armor and only drop guns, mats, ship/sparrow, etc. within the raid upon boss defeats. This will generally force people to complete the entire raid if they weren't already and potentially stop people from just playing Atheon, etc. (on hard mode primarily) to cheese him and get one or more pieces of raid gear they need. I'm really hoping in addition that they make hitting level 32 and higher much more difficult to obtain but in a reliable manner (not raid RNG loot). On a side note I've only ever run the raid one time (on normal) where the entire raid no one got a single piece of raid gear on the fire team.

Well if you get all pieces of raid armor, good luck getting it leveled up without materials. I have been raiding with chars since it came out and just now got all three to 30 today. I have completed the hard raid about 10 times and have completed normal more than you can count. RNG is all luck, my first raid with my warlock I landed all pieces and later did a hard and hot the helmet. It's nothing yo cry about, you have what 1 char probably and have done the raid three times and want lvl 30 handed to you...

Likewise I got full raid gear after 9 runs... Think that's about fare... Gotta keep trying...

At the very least, increase chances of getting the ship/sparrow and armor/weapons in said order for each consecutive week you beat the raid.

Just saying, and I know there are exceptions to this, but running the raid on hard gives you a double chance at that raid gear. My primary is sitting at 29.75 because I can't find raid boots (and there are no exotic boots to help me out), but I've stopped caring. It's easy enough to run the hard raid at level 29. My Titan uses the relic like a boss. And my Alt Warlock is 30. Now once they patch the Templar to prevent the ole grenade toss off, it'll be more difficult (we all know that patch will come eventually ;) I do suggest making one character for each class and running the raid 6x a week for each character. I seem to get better drops that way than just doing HM once per character.

Dumbass. This is definitely not happening. It's called grinding. I had to do the raid a lot more than "a couple" times to get my set. I'm fine with that because now I'm totally bored with the game until the Dark Below comes out. You should be happy you still have stuff to do. Honestly what we should really be complaining about is the amount of content that this "Epic" game was supposed to have. Stop whining and accept you're just gonna have to keep doing it, it's not Call of Duty. it's an MMO, try playing a different MMO, the grind is way longer than this....... -blam!-ing casuals

Signed. Both my hunter and my titan now have full shader boxes and all future chatterwhites are going straight to the mail. At my current rate I will fill up both mailboxes with shaders before I ever see an Atheon weapon drop or boots/chest/gloves. Meanwhile, my friends are sharding their 4th VoC and 2nd and 3rd pairs of boots. That's not cool Bungie. Not cool at all.

Remove materials and increase raid gear drop. Make the guns the rare things to get!!
