Let's look at classes shall we?
Titan - Striker
Arc Subclass with 2 excellent grenades. 1 strong damage and stuns. The other does periodic burst damage for groups. Either easily can take out a shield from a Knight.
It's Super is a massive aoe damage in close range. However, trait it for shockwave for a nice knockback and multi hit or lightning field for a good constant area damage. Both are beneficial.
Titan - Defender
It's grenades are a little sub par (agreeable) in this raid. But they are still beneficial in circumstances. Sticky grenade is nice.
It's super, easily the best super in the game in form of raiding as a defensive skill. Especially with helm of saint-14. If you argue this, you are fail. This alone makes a Titan invaluable.
Warlock - voidwalker
Let's be honest here. Who actually uses this class to raid with? Apart minor uses, it's not top priority in raid.
Warlock - sunsinger
Grenades are beneficial here. Sticky grenades for good burst damage as well as a good aoe grenade that does it's damage over time. Easy shield strippers.
Super to self revive is always helpful. Player dies and can save himself. No other class is capable of preventing a wipe with this ability. As well as you get a spam of grenades. Mass grenades equals 0 shields up.
Now for your hunter.
Hunter - gunslinger
Grenades have 1 good grenade and 1 semi good. Trip mine is good long as it's placed on its target or near it's walking path. The splitting made is good for tracking its target but bad against multiple targets. Grenades are slightly disadvantageous.
Super is 3-4 gun shots to take out 1 target. Basically as good as a titan strikers super but a Titan can take out as many targets around as his damage allows him to kill. Striker beats gunslinger.
Hunter - bladedancer
Grenades are ok. I enjoy them for this class but not the best.
Super is a Melee related ability. Absolutely useless on bosses, same as Titan striker. So neither is better then the other. And arc blade doesn't have knockback safety like fist of havoc does.
Melees aren't going to be a big enough difference to bother mentioning.
So in realistic ness, no hunter will not be superior. It will be more useful then in VoG bit just cause it has solar and arc subclasses does not mean it's best. Sorry to bust your bubble.
Also weapons make the enemy shields go down. You don't rely on your class for that.

Problem with sunsinger is you may never use the super if you don't die so it can become useless so I stick with void walker
-
Unless you use the infinite revive glitch.
-
Exactly my point then you never use the super ever
-
True. I use the super though as it generates lots of orbs which other people pick up and in turn use their super so I'm not without it for long. Plus being level 30 and having plenty of raid experience means if I die it's my own mistake and I make very few so I'm happy to pop my super.
-
Bit Off the mark with that assumption... All classes are even... If anything the hunter is worse in the air due to "Glide" which most deem utterly useless... I have 2 Titans myself and do not suffer against any enemy type due to the Arsenal of guns at my disposal which cater for Various Elemental types... Which I feel is Key to defeating any enemy... Broaden your weapon types and you'll be fine no matter what the game throws at you... Good Luck to all

I think you meant to reply to the OP

We use Voidwalker on the current HM Raid, as long as people don't die, Voidwalker > Sunsinger especially for Venus with the Praetorian.
-
Praetorian is too easy to kill having sunsinger or 2 makes legions extremely easy. And nova bomb is easily out powered by gjalahorns that we use. I understand not everyone has it so voidwalker may be a little more used currently
-
you my good sir deserve a hug a kiss and a warm freshly baked cookie.
-
I will say in response to the "melees not making a difference" deal, my Sunsinger has been saved many a death by hitting someone and getting that shield from my Scorch. Praise the Sun!

In terms of survival yes Melee on each class helps, but they aren't used to strip shields nor do damage.
