Narrative warning: A friend of mine and myself have been trying to knock out our VOG fights since early Tuesday. After many hours of repeatedly failing, due to an insurmountable plethora of bugs in the game, we built another team. My friend and myself are both 30s, we picked up four 29s. Since we have beat Atheon to bits with less we felt confident. Then the cracks begin to appear. Two of the guys we found on the forums kept reverting to private chat. One never left. The one who spoke with us called the other "my client." He had to ask "his client" if it was okay to start at the gatekeepers. We, hesitated but agreed. Fine, whatever, just get in the party so we can strategize and get this over with. They both pop in party chat and my friend launches the game. We open the door, kick the first gatekeepers ass, while my friend, let's call him Hunter, and I lay out the game plan. I'm going into left portal moments before Hunter goes into the one on the right. In other words, my friend and I are soloing the portals simultaneously while the other four split into groups of two defending each sync plate. We heard no objections and assumed everyone understood the plan and was in agreement. I go in the left portal pop two hollerhorn rockets, and duck behind the gate for cover while I reload. I switch to my revenge, call for Hunter to go right and kill his gatekeeper asap. I rush out from cover and juke the minotaurs on my way to my perch overlooking the gates. I pop a few shots into the gatekeeper to get him to teleport below me. Then it happens. "Guardian down" "Just me left on the left." A teammate exclaims. "What are you doing in here? ....... get out ..... Go defend the sync plate they need your help outside!!!!!! Can you guys hear me?" Hunter stresses into the mic. "Yes, we can. I'm out, I'll get these minotaurs up top." I exclaim. "What the -blam!-, why aren't you listening? Get out. No. Don't grab the relic." Hunter yells into the mic "He grabbed the relic. -blam!-!" He exclaims in confusion, his frustration bleeding through. "Cleanse me! Cleanse!" He screams into the mic. "Enderthe gates are opening back up which one do you want?" He demands. "On my way. I'll take the precursors, I have more armor." The shit hits the fan. "-blam!-, he died......." my friend whispers into the mic. "Guardian down" " RELI--- oh, he self-resurrected (in that case) CLEANSE ME DAMN IT!!!!" ---CLEANSE--- "Guardian down" "No! Don't grab the relic, let me grab the relic!!" The client picked up the relic. "Guardian down" "I got the relic." My friend exclaims in exasperation. Seconds later. "Guardian down" "Guardian down" "Guardian down" "REZZZZUUURRRRREEECCCCCTTTTTIIiioooooonnnn!" I exclaim, when it hits me, everyone's dead and we've been expunged. "Well, that was a waste of a sup---......... YES! I DON'T BELIEVE IT! WE STILL GOT REWARDS!! WE MADE IT!!" "Guardian down" "I'm dead." I exclaim. "Did we get the checkpoint?"
