Destiny? Why u no include Sniping?

Is there anyone else who thinks the level designers went way out of their way to stop anyone sniping? I mean sure, try break up the monotony of campers and don't have too much open ground. But seriously? As a budding game designer they have literally thrown stuff everywhere and anywhere. Blocks, cylinders, jutting hills, destroyed vehicles, walls, etc, etc. They say the hardest thing about designing a game is inventing new ideas for obstacles without using WALLS. And destiny has them all. Rusted lands (Earth) - firefights between two huge buildings. Why do they have such few windows? Only the complete destruction of a wall allows us to see into several of the capture points. This is EARTH. Ironically the walls stopping us leaving the map have the most windows, just so they can show off their graphics. Twilight Gap (Earth) - a huge gun placement. Cool. Except a few awkward rooms twisting and turning trying to avoid that 'hallway' stigma. Literally a shotgun haven. The flag at B I understand to be the main conflicted territory, but to have NO avenues to use a sniper? There are boxes in the most absurd places, not to mention a huge container conveniently lying across the middle of the map, providing a means for people to move about the middle unscathed. Such poor design, when the OTHER half of the map is specifically designed to be close quarters and short firefights. First Light (Moon) - Dome structure. How desolate is the moon? I'd like to think a lot. But this station is situated amongst the most undulating rock formations ever. Land juts out against others, with a walkway between them? Why. Its just two big spikes of land. It's not even pretty. There is no reason for it to be there. No one plays there, or at the others. Bastion (Mars) - Another outpost, this one built into the rock. Possibly the worst design of all. The 'A' flag, located inside and no other way to see in. One side is impassable, the other the low ground. C flag, under cover of a rock/shelter - is it a structure? Not sure, but its only visible once inside the room. B flag, wow. A mammoth rock hiding a tall room which holds a single, square block for cover. Very uninspiring. The whole level is designed around its little areas where they want PVP to be as close as possible. Bare minimum sniping avenues. Whole parts of the map covered and unexposed. Protection, protection, protection. Why are we fighting for these parts of territory again? Is it a control room? No. A vantage point? No. They are just rooms. To be captured. No wonder I'm complaining about the sniping, its the only fun thing to do. So before I close - I like the game. I enjoy being good at it and appreciate being beaten by people who are better than me. But to me it seems they didn't just cater for the shotgun. They made it overpowered. NO avenues for snipers, whatsoever. I wrote most of this in a Control sense, as I think it is the most sniper friendly. I like sniping. I like beating people who snipe back, but no one does. Feels like this game has been made around the people who hated it and wanted a haven where they can run in all guns blazing. I just want to see how the rest of the community feels about this.

  • R U 4 Real? Ive been sniped on every single map even the small ass 3 player maps. Maybe you are used to a more traditional type of lay on the ground battle field type of sniping but there is very much a lot of sniping in destiny
