Ranked pvp like halo 2
Want a way to put destiny undoubtedly above any other multiplayer game? Add a ranked pvp system. Like how you guys had it in halo 2. Seriously. I cant begin to describe how disappointed I was when I popped it in and there wasnt, im even more so because you guys still havent. That is why halo 2 (not counting the fact it was just an awesome game) never lost appeal to me and so many others like me.

Added note destiny is possible the only game which has pvp with out a ranking system, and halo 3 had the best ranking system to date

Needs to happen. Mixing every type of player into one pot is frustrating, people who are trying pvp out for the first time are getting owned by the hardcore pvp players and visa versa hardcore players getting frustrated with guys getting k/d of 0.01. I do think if ranked was to come in rng rewards and bounties should be left out and replaced with a stats screen and a bit extra crucible rep. Also limited special ammo with a 2min spawn time [quote][/quote]and legendary gear only but have exotics spawn on the map to help give games a bit more balance

New to PvP however I spend a ridiculous amount of time viewing what little performance information can be gleaned on my profile and post match carnage. If there was ranked play that was optional I would probably give it a whirl. A lot of people on here are PvP'ers going way back and I get that but I absolutely hated PvP and I hated Destiny PvP as well. But I decided to make the effort to play it and I focused simply on improving my performance one piece at a time and turned my 0.2 k/d into an overall 0.73 and I am proud of my 0.73 even if it is not a particularly good score. Anticipating the first Iron Banner especially forced me deeper into PvP because it represented a goal and I think ranked play would be similar, a goal to work towards. Besides all y'all deserve to have yer asses handed to you by a noob such as myself just on principle :)

There should be a mode for ranked matches, an elo system of a sort. That'd make things much more interesting cause there is no incentive to pvp other than try to have fun and getting rid of the bounties.

Don't forget ranked matches is a choice not all matches should be ranked. So why be against it just don't play ranked once its there

This would be okay with some new maps thrown in get like a line wolves type going. But as of now there'd be only shotguns and rockets everywhere.

36 RepliesThis game has too many terrible PvP aspects for that to work. Over accommodating auto aim, guns constantly nerfed/debuffed with one clear cut choice, several instant kill buttons and quick time to kill. The game makes it so it's very hard to do badly if you're an average player.

Because everymode is in the end TDM. My clan won a match by not capping the 3 flags but just kill allot more then the enemy and not dieing. Hardmode with no autoaim and or radar. Halo2 is and was the best multiplayer game on console ever for me. It should also be a choice if you want to play ranked or not. Also based on winning or losing a match and kill-dead ratio. Lets all start at the base of 1500 points again ;) People who stat boost let them boost eventually if they wanna play they will lose big time because of the people who have reached the same level with skill. Also leaving a match should deliver big minus points unless proven that the server had issues.

I have a 2+ K/D in clash in destiny because it matches me up with people no where near my skill level. In Halo 3 trying to get to level 50 was very hard. (which I did btw haha) When your playing Halo 2 or Halo 3 no mater what level you were winning or losing a game means so much to the players. If you were a level 20 you wanted to be a 21 and 49's wanted to be 50's. If you could care less about rank you could play social matches and if I'm being honest I was all about my rank, but playing some Big team battle or grifball was a pretty damn good time. I don't see how a ranked play list can take anything away from the game. IMO it can only add to it. If bungie has a reason for not adding a rank playlist that is understandable, however they need to tell us if this is the case. If there is no reason then add it already! Also Bungie is the king of the ranking system so why let that system go to waste?

I enjoy crucible but agree with you that there should be some sort of progression we should be working towards. ranking up in Halo was awesome and would love to see it in Destiny.

Could not agree more. I was talking to all of my friends about that this week. Why would you not have a ranking system???? It takes away the competitive edge. Oh wow, I just won, what does that get me????? Competitively, absolutely nothing. Let people that do not want to compete play a none ranked pvp and add ranked for people that play to compete. It literally boggles my mind that they would not include rank.

1 ReplyI'm shocked that they have not added this in yet or even not in to start with. The ranking system made me fill every round was important and had to focus. I'm not sure why it's not in the game but needs to be. Maybe start a poll so Bungie easily see this is what people want.
