Banning Exotics from Crucible and Custom Game Creator

First off, don't flip into rage mode at the title suggesting that beloved Suros Regime of yours be taken away, or your trigger happy Invective, if you don't like the suggestion, just say so, no need to call me a whining bitch who's scared of exotics, when frankly I don't mind the pvp as it is currently. A lot of complaints on these forums pertain to the nerfing of many weapons or abilities, most of (or many) of which specify Exotic Weapons, Vex Mythoclast is too powerful in pvp, or invective has too much range, Suros Regime is god tier, people are camping with Patience and time, etc etc. Crucible is designed to take a player of any level and make it so everyone has a fighting chance by changing the weapon ratings as well as armor ratings to even the playingfield, however it cannot even out weapon special abilities or perks, and as Exotics, weapons you can only equip one of, they are made to have these incredible abilities, some of which are undeniably superior to others. (Somebody offers you Monte Carlo and Suros Regime, come on which one would you take?) Exotics being exotics, naturally disrupt the 'even playing field', the crucible is supposed to present. Now you can argue everyone has access to these weapons, or at least the ones sold by Xur, but some people are either new, don't have the teammates or friends to earn Strange coin, or may just not have been home all weekend to grab Suros when Xur was selling it. (Copout example I know but there are people with circumstances like this). Now, a solution would be to simply... ban exotics or perks from Crucible, along the lines of 'these weapons are too powerful to use against your fellow guardians' or something like that. But you take the perks away, some weapons are quite earnestly left lacking, and taking out exotics, even for the sake of balancing, would remove the fun of a lot of the game along the idea of unpredictability and beating odds stacked against you. (Maneuvering around an enemy with gjallarhorn and heavy ammo or being aware of a Patience and time user hiding in some bush gives matches a sense of individuality from others just depending on your opponents) But there are legitimately people who want this even playing field, if not for not having the Exotic that's killing him, but for the time period he's leveling it up to get the perk that is kicking his butt. So, if it was possible, I'd like the idea of separate crucible game modes where one could play with or without Exotics, giving the individual the personal option and not deprive those enjoy the challenge of exotics in their game modes. That's a suggestion, but personally I'd much rather see custom game modes with exotics permitted or not as a possible customization, since I have fond memories of such custom modes in Killzone Shadow fall: example being one game mode where one team had no guns but cloak and a knife, while the other had only a pistol with limited ammunition, and it was a thrill playing this irregular game mode, and I think Destiny could greatly benefit from allowing players to make new, custom game modes, control with new placed locations, turrets added into new locations on maps, things like that. So, tell me your stance on the balance issue in Crucible, or your opinion on either suggestion. Tldr; Add in a separate game mode that is Exotic free in Crucible for those that think a particular Exotic is overused and overpowered, or add in a custom game mode creator to give the same effect as well liven up pvp opportunities and options

  • There should be more crucible modes. One with out specials, one for just your class type, iron banner (where stats actually matter) capture the flag, one where you all get the same gear, and sure, one where you can't use exotics. But, at some point you have to realize they they're not trying to be "just another shooter"
