The thing about vocals for me is that they can't just sound pretty, they need to hold my attention for a whole album. I can easily listen to most male vocals (except the vocalists from Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and a few others: they can all go to voice box hell as far as I'm concerned) but with females my taste is a lot more restricted for some reason. I don't know why I just get bored with a lot of female vocalists after a few songs. Delian, newer Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Halestorm, etc, are fine for a song or two, it all just gets boring rather quickly though. Strange.

Mother's first couple of albums were phenomenal. I liked a ton of female fronted bands, but they've all gone away, made bad lineup changes, or got monotonous. Mother, L7, Kittie, Blonde Redhead, the Pretenders, Concrete Blonde, etc. Annie Clark (St Vincent) with Nirvana at the HoF induction was thoroughly badass. I want to see that band.
