And not just for the eye-candy.
Current faves of mine:
Within Temptation
Subrosa
Jex Thoth
Tristania
early Nightwish (Tarja-era)
Savages
Royal Thunder
Windhand
Jefferson Airplane
Fleetwood Mac
The thing about vocals for me is that they can't just sound pretty, they need to hold my attention for a whole album. I can easily listen to most male vocals (except the vocalists from Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and a few others: they can all go to voice box hell as far as I'm concerned) but with females my taste is a lot more restricted for some reason. I don't know why I just get bored with a lot of female vocalists after a few songs. Delian, newer Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Halestorm, etc, are fine for a song or two, it all just gets boring rather quickly though. Strange.

Edited by Recon Number 54: 10/31/2014 6:03:02 PMGood bands/musicians are just good bands. If the front has breasts (or not) it doesn't impact their talent, abilities and why I appreciate them. Gotta love her lyrics too:
The middle of the road is no private cul-de-sac I can't get from the cab to the curb Without some little jerk on my back Don't harass me, can't you tell I'm going home, I'm tired as hell I'm not the cat I used to be I got a kid, I'm thirty-three...
There aren't many good ones, but I have a couple: Heart Paramore

Edited by Upperclass Bum: 11/1/2014 5:35:29 AMNo, not really. Most of them sound the same and try too hard to act tough and it makes me cringe - assuming we're talking about metal and hard rock - with the exception of a few. Like the chic from Arch Enemy, she kicks ass. As for bands in other genres, yeah. I love Stevie Nicks, a few of Dolly Parton's songs are alright too. Heart too. On a side note, I think the point of this thread went over a few heads...

Skunk Anansie Nico Vega

Heart Halestorm Joan Jett anything she does

Mother's first couple of albums were phenomenal. I liked a ton of female fronted bands, but they've all gone away, made bad lineup changes, or got monotonous. Mother, L7, Kittie, Blonde Redhead, the Pretenders, Concrete Blonde, etc. Annie Clark (St Vincent) with Nirvana at the HoF induction was thoroughly badass. I want to see that band.

Heart, The Pretty Reckless and Halestorm are bands I enjoy.

Sure I don't mind them! I just find it hard to find ones that I like. I totally agree with you about Megadeth....
-
La Luz is pretty cool

Some Chelsea Wolfe is my all time favorite...

I dig "In this Moment". She's hot, tatted up a bit, and she can belt it. Triple threat.

Sure. But not specifically because of the singer or anything. If it sounds good, it sounds good.
