WTF Exclusive DLC now?
As frustrating as it is for xbox users not having any exclusive content found on Playstation (extra pvp map, extra strike, extra exotics) and also all the PS4 events like the the ninja bounty, it must be really frustrating for all the creative people at Bungie to have the execs get in the way of their creation.
Now it was announced today that Playstation will be getting another exclusive strike with the new dlc (and I can only assume same will go with the House of Wolves dlc) increasing the number of strikes to 9. This sucks because xbox owners who have spent the same amount of money on destiny and the season pass only get 7 and strikes are a key point in the replayability of Destiny. Bungie messed up because of the deal with Playstation they are hurting their customers on xbox which will result in player drop off and thus not being able to sustain the number of players desired for their 10 year plan. I really like this game and I am an xbox one owner who is starting to feel the fatigue. With all the great options for games, I doubt i will be able to make it 1 full year to get the content that shouldn't have been taken away in the first place.
PS4 exclusives only benefit Playstation (not Playstation owners) because its designed to get people who either don't have a system and are using this game as a justification to purchase a console or the people who have both to buy it for their system. Gamers lose because of all these deals (Xbox lost on Destiny but PS lost on Tomb Raider worse imo), Programmers/Artist/Writer lose because the things they worked hard on are purposely not distributed to everyone. Sony and Microsoft win because people are forced to choose.
I wish the console wars were more about developing new exclusive ips (Gears, Last of Us) and not cutting content (Tiger Woods releasing 19 dlc courses for $50 same day the game came out) or timed releases (cod). As a side note, retailer exclusives need to stop too.
I hope bungie is addressing this issue and coming up with ways to rectify the exclusivity mistake. A few suggestions I have are:
- xbox events (along with ps events)
- additional free weapons/ armor (diluting the benefits ps owners get)
- additional free add on strikes or variants (different enemy placement would do wonders)
- modified strike playlist (playlist should have special currency and maybe less weapon xp)
---- example: only green/purple ammo drops from enemies (rocket strike would be so fun)
---- example: weapon type buffs (scout riffle would be OP for the strike)
- more venders that accept vanguard marks (maybe some that accept a third currency that you get from my modified strike playlist suggestion)
- confirmation that after the contract is over ps and xbox will have the same content
Please feel free to add on to my list and hopefully bungie will fix this so that we don't see this as common business practices in the future.

However, it is rather stupid that PSN users get an exclusive strike in the DLC that both parties pay the exact same amount for. That I can't forgive. I realize that it is timed exclusives (Fall 2015), but that is quite a long wait for something I paid for when I bought the game.

They already confirmed that it was a timed exclusive and that the 360 and XBone would gain access next year. I don't know if they've said anything about the timed exclusives in the DLC or not

2 RepliesHonestly, the only issue I have with DLC exclusives is the time delay for the things that will eventually come to Xbox. Most instances there's a 3-6 month difference. Though it seems as if we might be seeing a 9-14 month difference on this.

Hey man, each console gets thier own exclusives with different games, it won't change. The price Sony paid for exclusivity far outweighs the business of those who can't accept it. For the record, current exclusive content is that great most players leave as soon as they zone in, you're not missing much. You don't see many ppl using the exotic exclusives either as there are much better options. The pvp map is ok. There is no point dwelling over it. Get both consoles if you think its worth it.

4 RepliesSeriously get over it. We've had a ton of exclusives over playstation, so it's fair they get some too. All this post sounds like is the dribbling of someone who feels entitled. They're getting the same dlc as us, with bonus strikes. We all paid and received what we paid for.

1 ReplyLook at it this way. Sony gave extra money to bungie to give us extra content. Microsoft didn't. If MICROSOFT cared more for its users than Sony does, then they would have outbid sony for the exclusive content. Blame Microsoft if you feel cheated.

5 RepliesOH PLS STOP BEING A SISSY, This shows the nature of NOT ALL BUT SOME XBOX Fanboys, Exclusives are Exclusives meaning In destiny, Sony wants you to by the game for their console, they cant force the consumers so they came up with this know as exclusives which is a benefit to ps players for some [u]TIME[/u] . same as for COD, sunset Overdrive etc. Did ps players bitched for cod for time Exclusivity or Halo being not there for sony ? NO. its Xbox fault that they missed destiny exclusive. For me i have both cod(Xbox) and Destiny(Ps4). i dont want the exclusives to stop, I do want ps to get more more more!!!! ( ya come at me). Destiny exclusive crap can stop when Cod stops theirs. P.S Reason for saying NOT all but some xbone users is some xbox players do agree on this cod and destiny exclusive thing

9 RepliesI get the whole "ps gets extra stuff" but extra stuff should be like weapons or armor, maybe some cooler class items, hell even an extra map for pvp, but to give them an extra strike is -blam!-ed up. The story is already under developed as -blam!-, seems like a bad idea to take part of the story and only give it to one group

Why would I have chosen to get the PS version when the developers have had much more experience on a different console? I gaurente playstation has more bugs than xbox. They've given me exclusive content so I feel like getting it on PS. You have just as much opportunity to get the strikes and guns as any of us, YOU chose to buy an xbox instead of a playstation. I bet you don't get upset about me not being able to play gears of war. It's a couple strikes and guns. If you honestly think those few strikes are going to keep you going for a year you're crazy. I would have loved to been able to play halo on my playstation even if it meant I only had access to a select number of maps and guns, etc.. And it's already been confirmed that you'll get access in a year's time. Wish this game was a playstation exclusive. Edit: Also the Bungie Bounties actually let the targets choose the console they want. So that's actually not exclusive to PS, though I would love to see some more love for the old gen consoles PS3 and XB360.

It's been known for ages that the dlc would have more ps exclusives as Sony paid for these and Microsoft didn't. It's a business so please everyone stop bitching about it.

I don't mind the idea of systems having exclusive games developed for them, after all, it's the way it's always been. But I do have an issue when one console buys a previously multi-platform franchise as an exclusive (Tomb Raider) or they buy exclusive content within a multi-platform game (Destiny). Both these practices harm the consumer in my opinion.

No amount of exclusive dlc will make me buy a PlayStation. They got bungie, we got insomniac. We also have exclusive evolve and cod dlc and tomb raider next year. Ps got destiny, watch dogs and assassins creed content. Both companies are doing it now so you're screwed buying either platform.

Welcome to the world of capitalism. That's how big business get people to buy their products. They offer exclusive items or deals for something you really want, in this case exclusive content for Destiny. That's one reason I got a PS4, but not the main reason. Not everyone will succumb to this tactic, as it sounds like you're a dedicated XB1 player. Either way, these companies will never stop making exclusives on games for one system over the other. This method has been proven to work. If it makes them money, they'll keep doing it. The only way I know to counter this is to own both systems and then buy the games for the one system that gets the exclusive content.

3 RepliesThe game doesn't launch on XBox until fall 2015. Right now you guys basically get half a game at full price. It's really pathetic and I feel for XBox owners when it comes to this game. If it was a 30 day exclusive that would be one thing. Or even if it was just loot no one would care. But the DLC really screws with XBox players as you also miss out on two Strikes, two Story missions, and two PVP maps. A year exclusive on that material is as evil as the Cryptard. The game is thin enough on content scraping that much out is just terrible. So far though you're not missing much. The Strike with the Flayers on Mars really sucks. The Flayers just seem to bath in bullets as it doesn't seem to effect them much. You end up just chasing them around a box shooting them endlessly in the head for 5 or so minutes. Oh and there are 3 of them.
