The footsteps stop, and a key is inserted into the lock. The door gets unlocked, and it starts to open. You don't have long to decide on a course of action.

Slash who ever walks into the door out of panic

You take a hapless guard who was coming to check on you by surprise, and inadvertanly cut a deep gash into his neck. As he collapses choking on his own fluids, another guard rushes into the room with his weapon drawn. Your sword is now ignited, and ready to burn and slash your foes.

Wait till he attacks back step and hit with blunt end go in for a capture and interrogation

The guard clumsily swings at you and gets the blunt pommel of your sword to the head. He is now dazed, and easy to capture or kill.

Grab and ask where the fastest most safe way out is

The guard stammers out "G-go-go out the room, follow the hallway go east! Th-that's the quickest way out!" He looks fearfully at you.

Knock out guard and head for the door

You reach the doorway. You can loot the guard you killed, or ignore him and continue down the hallway. At the end, there is an intersection.. One way going left, the other going right. To the left is East, to the right is West.

Loot the dead guard and survey the east side

You acquire some iron armor, an iron sword, 12 gold, and a tattered note. As you progress to the east side and peak around the corner, you see a lone guard patrolling away from you.

Put on armor and rush the lone guard and look for others in a defensive manor.

You catch the poor guard flat-flooted, and stab the hapless man through the back with your Flame Sword, killing him instantly, and disintegrating everything not made of metal. You spot no others in this corridor.

Look around for a door

You see an opening to the left, and a lever handle nearby said opening. As you get closer, you can hear some quiet conversation between two guards. That lever lowers the drawbridge, the way out.

Use sword to set something on fire to attract guards one or both and attack

Both of the guards come and investigate the burning banner, somehow not noticing you as they try to find out the source. You manage to surprise attack one guard as punch the other in the head, knocking him away. The one you surprise attacked is little more than a pile of ashes and armor now, as your sword disintegrated him when you stabbed him through the spine. The second guard readies a large iron battleaxe and charges at you once he's recovered from your punch. He looks a little off-balance, though.

Get low and when he raises Axe tackle to the ground and stab

The guard swings the axe at your midsection- at least, where it would be if you were standing- and passes over your head by a hair. As he's correcting himself, you pounce and stab the flame sword into his armor just above his heart. The heat of the blade parts the metal like butter, and the guard disintegrates right beneath you, leaving some very hot metal armor in his wake. You get up before you burn yourself and loot what you can of the guards, getting a map of the area, and 30 gold coins.

I look the map over to see if there is a wardens quarters or any mention of an area where one may reside

Edited by CAD1420Z: 10/27/2014 4:33:33 AMThe map does not detail the interior of the prison, but does reveal there is a town nearby. You will need to stock up on provisions once you get out of the prison. You can continue exploring the prison, or leave.

Use water magic to put out any fire that is still going and pull the lever for the draw bridge. Wait a moment to see if anyone comes looking

The burning banner is now in tatters, and is little more than a strip of singed cloth. You pull the lever and lower the drawbridge. No one comes looking. You can now leave the prison if you desire.

Leave but doing so carefully watching for any hidden guards that may be waiting to attack.

You leave, and are not pursued. The nearest town is an hours walk from here, and is the only place you know of where you can find food, drink, and rest for the night if you need it.
