Hey if you don't like crucible like me then stick with vanguard only. Don't wear a faction item because you will still need crucible marks to buy the items. Put on a normal class item, do the vanguard bounties. Then just grind vanguard strike playlist. At rank 2 you can buy the armor you need.

You can also turn in mats you got from the overworld (Spinmetal, Relic Iron, Spirit Bloom, Heilum) for Crucible Marks.
