Wrong. The current system is broken. I spent a couple of days doing tiger strikes trying to get a suros...I had a goal. Now, I bought the thing with strange coins and Xur... Know what Ill be doing now? Working to upgrade it...which is easy....then Ill be popping onto BF4. Why? Because Destiny hands everything to me and destroys any goals on progression. People whine about RNG... do they realize probability is involved? No. They dont. They dont want "chance"...they want guarantees so they can take advantage of the situation like the loot cave and atheon... so they can be OP create threads like this... and go back to COD in a few months... just so they can ruin another franchise. Examples of ruined games whom attempted to appease the noobs who wanted everything handed to them: Diablo III Destiny BOTH CREATED BY ACTIVISION... whom want to dumb down the mechanics so that they can alienate core gamers for the casuals...who have the attention spans of 15 yr old boys (who mostly need explosions and dumb stories like COD to be entertained). Truth.

  • I also want to make a point, people assume supply and demand is simple. They see it as a relative theory to why games are becoming more noob friendly. While, this may be the case... maybe a company just want to make more cash by making it easier for casuals. This also makes me wonder how much cash they will lose with the core gamers... the ones who would have ensured the longevity of the game. I would assume that core gamers were more likely to spend cash on DLCs and...continue playing this game for years. Now, probably not... Theyve alienated the loyal crowd... which is a bigger loss? The untapped market of casuals... or the core gamers...the ones who used to sit in waiting lines for hours to get their hands on a new game... Now, you have the casual "gamers" there too...why? So, they can turn midnight releases into their personal fb parties and move onto the next game they can ruin. Its a sad day.... :/

  • totally agree on this. i normally dont post things but this is the major issue for me with this game. the loot system basically rewards the laziest bastards just as well as the ones who put in the most work. i have gotten 3 exotics from tiger strikes an i came no where near 'earning" them. i literally slept through 2 an the 3 third i watched a movie on netflix. i didnt get but maybe 10 kills in all 3 combined but for some reason i was given 3 exotics... then after the RNG gods bless me with tons of coins i go to the exotic wellfare vendor friday mornings an get all those to. my first taste of MMO was everquest that game actually made it feel like you came close to "earning" your items but alas it seems the lazier our society gets the more the old hardcore games die out.

  • Destiny didn't hand things to you mate, it gave you the choice of how you could earn it. You could have quite easily stuck to your goal and carried on playing to get the Suros, but you were the one who chose to buy it. Activisions "dumbing down" worked on you, have a think about that for a moment.

  • It worked because I had no choice...in pvp...iron banner my hardlight stiid no chance against those with suros. It aslo inflated expectations of what I could do in a raid.

  • DII remained relevant on the gaming scene for years. DIII barely made a blip on the screen. It's a testament to what appeasing the casuals has done to gaming..... They should be concentrating on the core gamer group and less on you.

  • The systems not broken, it's working exactly how BUNGIE intended it to (Activision is only the publisher) If you don't like the way the RNG system works just leave.. You won't be missed.

  • Funny, you're assuming the publisher has no power even though theres a precedence of Activision ruining series.

  • Of course Activision has power, but they didn't write the game.

Whats scary is these fools are simplifying the experience of a video game and ruining the challenge and difficulty component. It tells you a lot about their personality. They want money NOW, they want it FAST, experience is MINIMIZED as long as the PAYOUT is NOW. Now, apply this to how they may be at work etc...

  • Just a game? A hobby is a hobby... until someone ruins it. Then, it loses its entertainment factor.

  • I would also like to point out, your analogies are completely wrong. The RNG is based on probability. Therefore, if someone won the lotto... playing everything day etc.... YA, theyve earned it. Thats the principal of including probability. Using strange coins to cheaply buy exotics etc...(which is easy), you're getting a guaranteed item...bypassing the need for work.

  • How are strange coins obtained?
