Real MMO's have LOOT tables on each boss , and is the reason people want to do certain bosses to get certain items for their class Example : want to get the best Group zone lvl 55 ring for your Templar ? it drops off Boss X in zone Y want to get the best Group zone lvl 55 shoulders for your Templar ? it drops off Boss W in Zone K want to get the best Group zone lvl 55 helmet for your Templar ? it drops off Boss A in Zone B want to get The Best Raid gear drops in the 1st Tier of raiding for your Templar so you can gear up to get to the second Tier ? Boss X in raid zone Y drops chest piece, Boss R in zone Y drops shoulders , Boss A in raid zone W drops necklace . Boss C in Raid Zone W drops earrings 2nd tier of raiding ^^ see above on how to gear up your templar to get to get the gear you need for the Third Tier of raiding ( this is normally endgame raiding in MMO's until the following expansion . Contested Mobs ( mobs that appear very very rarely in the game and are extremely hard to beat ) have their own Special Loot ,, like Mythical items that can actually rival all but endgame loot ( and depending on the Contested mob might the loot might actually be better than endgame raid gear ) if someone Stopped you in a MMO and asked you "where did you get that Mythical/Epic Weapon?" you would be able to tell them the Exact mobs that it dropped off of . <<-- - - - - - - - - - THIS is what Destiny was suppose to be " Each item you get will tell a story and people will know Exactly what you had to go through to get it " etc etc , reasons for each class to want to run the Zones and raids repeatedly to try to get the gear and items they needed to progress , . Destinies RNG is NOTHING like a real MMO, the loot in this game is 100% random,. I got Suros Regime off some random mob during a strike , ( no story behind it , some trash mob dropped it ) I got Monte Carlo from a random Engram and have No clue what mob dropped the engram , i found it running around after we defeated the main boss in one of the strikes Xur Sells exotics every week ,, so if you don't get it as a drop you can just buy it off him whenever he has the what you want . PVP people who score no kills and no deaths get Legendary and exotic rewards = HOW is that like all other mmo's ? random person who is AFK gets one of the best weapons / gear pieces in the game for doing nothing in a 5 minute match versus someone who had to build up reputation with their faction and Buy the legendary reward .. or how about verses someone who can play for 3 months and NEVER get that exotic weapon or gear piece because they aren't able to play Friday / Saturday when XUR is in the game . sorry but your WRONG , the RNG in this game is BRoKEN , it is 100% random off anything , there is no Greater chance of having it drop from the Hardest Boss or drop in in Any zone or drop in a Raid as there is from it dropping for a random person in a 5 minute pvp match to a random person farming loot caves , the RNG in this game rewards the LUCKY people and that's a crappy system . where Luck 100% determines who gets the best loot in the game and time,effort,risk, can get you the same Armor shader for weeks on end a system that rewards farming over playing the actual content a system that rewards being afk over trying your best in pvp loo like every other mmo ? HOW

How can you say the raid is solid when any scrub can get a warlock to push these bosses off the edges. Its -blam!-ing bad and if they dont learn by their next expansion im out. Half these idiots cant perform any duties in the vault Legit.

How many times you've pushed Atheon from a level 30 save you got from elsewhere to get the level 30 gear for two of your characters? Be honest. The RNG in this game is so "fine" that you had to create two characters of the same class to increase your odds. The RNG in certain parts of this game simply blows and shouldn't be there. It's the only game I know where level is completely unrelated to experience, time and effort invested in.

This is sarcasm. It has to be.

The RNG is not fine at all. If I accomplish a specific goal, i should get a definitive reward. Doing a difficult mission or goal in the hope you might get something that might be good is why so many people are quitting and will continue to quit. RNG is a bad strategy and a crutch that bad game developers use to artificially extend a lacking games' content. It prays upon the human desire of being surprise rewarded that gives a high to our brains. Essentially, it preys on people capacity to be addicted to something. And that is not a good thing at all.

RNG is NOT ok if players can not trade to each other, in some manner. Normal MMO => Two warlocks are on the raid. A Warlock chest piece drops. Warlock #1 says, "I already have it, you take it." Warlock #2 takes the chest piece, the clan / group gets more powerful. Destiny RNG => Two warlocks are on the raid. A Warlock chest piece drops. Warlock #1 says, "I already have it, guess I have more shards." Warlock #2 says, "I got a ship". The clan / group gets prettier in orbit, but with no progression. "Trading" could be as simple as a common loot pool so people can need before greed like most MMO's.

So why the hell should destiny be the same as every other mmo! God forbid it does something else or new? You MMO players have become so accustomed to the usual mmo system you fail the see the bigger picture. Destiby could be revolutionary and be a game changer.

RNG is NOT fine. Seriously. I have completed the raid for 5 weeks. I now have 3 titans I run into Hardmode VOG. I have been lvl 29 for 5 weeks. I have helped others get 30. I had over 50 kills in VoG that could have rewarded me my boots. That is oracles, templar, and gatekeeper. To me the game isn't beat or complete unless I am 30. This isn't fair. I want to play hunter and warlock but I can't because I am not lvl 30. Isn't fair at all. I have so much gear. I have earned 4 helms, 4 gloves, and 3 raiding chest from VoG. I have 6/9 weapons. So many other exotics. I have 113 legendary shards, with about 10-12 pieces of gear I can break down. This is so messed up!

I have enjoyed the game so far, but it's not what I hoped for. The story is so lacking... so small so far... The game has great shooter mechanics, the right look, cool gear, but... The loot system, needs a tune at least. Some exotic weapons just dont feel exotic, and people rather play with legendary guns or rares, that really should not happen. The tower feels so dead... people just go there to get bounties and buy stuff and they are gone... More events and social driven areas should exist.
