"I Only Kill Oracles"
I had someone tell me this during a raid last night when I told them to take left plate.
I asked 'em, "What do you plan on doing when they patch the raid and change it to random teleports and you have no idea what to do when it comes to the other positions?" [i]It's not like it's rocket science, but still.[/i]
He said, "I go on bnet everyday and I didn't see anything about that." I booted him from the fireteam and we beat it with 5 players.
Point is, learn the other positions... learn them all. It makes rotating to a different position very easy when something bad happens (deaths). You'll also be ready for when they patch the raid. Too many times have I seen people being told, "You're doing this." or "I need you for this. Go here." and they're like, "I only kill oracles."

1 ReplyIts really hard to learn a position that is crucial to the raid you are in (picking up the relic). You can tell me to defend plates. I'll do it! You can tell me to kill oracles. I'll do it! You can tell me to focus fire. I'll do it But for god's sake dont make me pick up that holy relic...everyone is a better placed person than me for pickin up this thing. Luckily, I never had to. But if you NEED me to pick it up... ...I'll do it

Yesterday afternoon I put a FT together made up of 3 VoG rookies and 2 other VoG vets. We breezed through the raid in less then an hour and a half. The rookies were all good listeners...and yes it took a couple tries to get the Templar and Atheon fights down...but none of them were pricks about it, and the other 2 vets were very patient and like myself, did what they could to teach them where they needed to be and what they needed to do. There are people out there willing to learn all of the tasks needed, they just seem few and far between.

2 RepliesI was raiding last night and the party leader (who speaks quietly) was threatening to end the raid when we almost beat the templar. The kid was like 8 and was being a jerk about getting the shield. He wanted it but he sucked at using it. Anyway after he almost ended the raid for the fourth time a level 30 told him he could have the shield if the level 30 became fireteam leader once that happened we kicked the kid from the team and beat the raid with 5 people :) [spoiler]sorry that im not sorry kam[/spoiler]

Maybe try talk to them and give them a chanse, if they done the raid before they know what to do. They just have to get used to it and it will probably take one or two times before they get it. Kicking them early says more about you

1 ReplyI taught myself how to use the shield and though I'm usually on oracle duty, I've done both inside and outside... I like being able to do what's necessary to help us win. I have no problems with people not knowing the various roles, but it is annoying when they don't even want to bother learning them.

[b][u]Try 1 to 2[/u][/b] "okay....so who knows how to use the shield?" [i][silence][/i] "Okay, i will go into the time portal and will use the shield then it seems...... whose coming with me...." [i][silence][/i] "okay 'player A 'you have maxed epilogue/revenge/corrective you come with me to kill oracles. 'player B' you are high level you help me kill the adds save rockets for venus/right/past teleport praetorian" come out of the portal, supplicants everywhere.... wipe. ....after explaining fully about having one guy on top of each gate way and a runner to hop between the pillar to activate the portal, and the fact it pops up on the minimap which side we are on to that player, we go again. (I also ask one guy to finish the supplicants before killing the boss, normally who-ever is hunter with golden gun. works well) [b][u]Try 3 to 4[/u][/b] ....less dying to supplicants, not enough damage on the boss, so boss enrages before we finish him ...Ask If i can give the shield to another player.... finally get one of the outside guys to take the shield. I remain outside, [b][u]Try 5 to 6[/u][/b] my fate-bringer./highlord fixer two shots the supplicants in the crit spot, i kill most of them before they even get up the steps the guys wipe inside ...we try again with both oracle killer and add killer firing a rocket/throwing a grenade before the shield bearer goes to ground slam the adds [b][u]Try 7 [/u][/b] the supplicants drop like flies, the guys come out ...vengence mode active. fire both rockets(3 if using raid launcher), throw grenade (both if warlock) switch to ice breaker, fire all shots most hitting crit. switch to pistol if time to get some more shots in. reload rockets before supplicants spawn. repeat 2 more times....boss = dead gets chatterwhite and shards, every other member of the team gets guns/armour. particularly the useless ones. *sulks*

I'm still working on getting better with the relic, if I ever get my group to let me use it which is the thing. There all wanting to "speed run" an I would just like to use the damn relic for a change since it's the only thing i'm not as good at, like wtf man lol

I agree. None of the roles to do is hard to learn. I look forward to the patch as its going to mix it up a little bit but it's not going to make it harder as some believe it will. What i would like is for Atheon to actually move around the room and not just stand there as the real threat in the fight are the mobs as its easy not to be hit by Atheon besides the splash damage that enters the relic shield. They need to make him more of a threat and lessen the mobs a little bit so you won't be too overwhelmed.
