First off, I LOVE DESTINY. Put a shit ton of time into it and I love most things. here is a rant of mine, for what it's worth:
Obviously your patches and nerfs are enraging a few (if not, a lot) of players (not that they are bad or should be reversed, just that speaking from what i have seen on the forums) ... Take a stroll on the forums every hour or so, THERE ARE A TON OF GREAT IDEAS from your player base who are trying to help. Although, I'm sure you know this by now, it's very prevalent. One of them being this-
Instead of an invisible wall for Atheon not to get pushed off, why don't you update his A.I.??? Anybody can be pushed off an edge if running from grenades, it's something WE CAN ALL DO ON ACCIDENT. Why don't you update Atheon to jump over grenades towards the middle and when he lands he lets out a huge shockwave that shakes the entire room? It would add to the game and eliminate the need for invisible bullshit that's not fooling anybody. Same with the Templar fight, regarding the sniper posts being out of bounds... Instead, give the Templar an extra gun/targeting system that shoots huge -blam!-ing mortars out to people on the platforms that deal huge AoE damage. It would give player the option to jump on the platforms and give us a new strategy to destroy the Templar because one guy could try to distract him by jumping around on the pillars but at huge cost because they can die fairly easily. Instead of closing strategies, MAKE NEW ONES that fix the problem but still make it seem like you've put in thought. Even if these new strategies are creating more problems in the future from players finding different exploits, IT'S OKAY BECAUSE YOURE MAKING THE GAME BETTER ALONG THE WAY.
I understand that these changes I have suggested may or may not be extremely difficult, but the point is, I know you can think of something more exciting than baby bumpers.
Thanks for reading my rant

I'm more annoyed by the random teleport
-
Do you honestly think it takes less time and resources to implement these changes?

There is some strategies that involve grenade spam, to people stand on a very high pillar on each side where Atheon can't shoot them and when times vengeance triggers they just spam grenades since its insta cool down during times vengeance and grenades deal like 3-4k damage(depending on which, tripmine hits like a beast) while the portal team meets at the back and just unloads into him. Making so he jumps and does a shock wave that shakes the screen removes a viable (although not exactly efficient) strategy to fight him.

Why are you assuming they're adding an invisible wall? "Baby bumbers" is an obvious reference to the inflatable tubes used in bowling alleys to keep the balls from going in the gutter when children are playing. There's nothing invisible about that, they're just adding a lip to the edge of the map so he doesn't walk off.

Edited by Yu Tai Mai Shu: 10/22/2014 7:41:16 PMI see what you are saying, but in all honesty this only effects the people who try to bump atheon off or snipe templar from safety. In general though, for the people who do the fights the "normal" way this wouldn't change anything. Would be a waste of time and money to do all that work, when it's just as easy to accomplish the desired results in a much faster and more efficient way. Just my opinion though.

"BUNGIE~! I'm not happy with how you work and do what you do! Do it MY way!! NOW~!!!!!"
-
Well almost all enemies share the same AI. Scripting an entirely new AI will take awhile.
-
Most recent poll shows in favor of random teleport... Either way, the polls are ridiculous and not indicative of overall playerbase - but if we're going to use the "obviously people blah blah blah" statement, the most recent poll is in favor of teleporting being random =)

because baby bumpers are easier to add into the game, with this idea they'd have to create an animation and an attack plus the dammage it would do, implement it into the game then test it and attempt to work out the bugs that it may or may not create. Then even after adding these new things to the game there may be exploits and as soon as one was found then the community would blame bungie for not finding it first.

Edited by InfamousABO: 10/22/2014 4:41:25 PMBecause adding baby bumpers takes a lot less time therefore less money to code then AI,
