Girl Gamer Explains: Why Crucible loot drops are RNG
Before I get started, I want to be clear that I'm NOT directly endorsing the design of PvP loot rewards, merely providing what I think is Bungie's logic and because it is CLEARLY a mechanic that's still bothering people. I honestly think they have PvP gear rewards totally random as a bit of a social experiment because what it does do (aside from piss people the -blam!- off) is:
1. Reward anyone, [i]regardless[/i] of skill level, for trying out PvP. Carrot meet stick...*nom nom nom*.
2. Attempt to eliminate tryhard multiplayer arguing over kill steals, KD reps, and all that dumb internet epeen measuring.
3. Attempts to make the[i] focus[/i] of the [i]gameplay[/i] the most interesting thing about the experience. Not just a [u]means to a reward.[/u]
This is why the dude that went 2 / 25 will get a shiny Exotic despite your dominant 30 / 10 massacre. Winning is rewarded via Marks and Rep, NOT loot drops in the current system.

I think you were right catching flak for the "Girl Gamer Explains..." thing: this is the internet, and just like your Edit states, "YOU are responsible for YOUR actions." People will comment about things, and you may not like what they have to say. You could not have seriously thought putting that in the title would have no effect at all. I think, however, that it was messed up that people felt the need to act like complete jerks about it. Sadly, the internet is a breeding ground for that sort of sad-sack behavior. On the other hand, I think parenting is mostly to blame. Or perhaps people are inherently horrible and the anonymity of the internet really let's us all see it. But that being said, when I saw "Handlebar Mustachioed Biker Explains...:" in the forum, and figured out it was the same person, I chuckled.

That does absolutely nothing to further validate your points. All you did with that is show that you just want the attention of a thousand horny and desperate guys. My wife plays Destiny with me. Big deal, not like she does it for the attention of others, nor does she see any significance being a girl playing a game. Hell, most of the time, people in our party don't even notice that she's there because she's always so quiet. So stop trying to ride the whole "girl gamer" gravy train. You're just making yourself look like a desperate, attention-seeking fool.

Nobody cares that you are a chick, no need to put that in your title, fishing for likes and such can be done on Facebook. On topic - Guy Gamer responds to OP's post 1. PvP everyone should be rewarded 2. Should still be RNG so there are enough people to fill lobbies 3. RNG chance should be higher for the top 3 of each team, or at least increase the chance for better loots. 4. Increase the number of marks and rep you get if you finish higher on your team Pretty simple stuff

The only problem I have is incentive. What's my incentive to win, or even try when I know it won't affect the loot outcome. This creates idlers, and in my opinion I'd rather have a bunch of dick measurers than a bunch of idlers.

2 RepliesAs you stated many people get angry about this so it is rather the question if it is smart just to hand out candy for everyone but not for success. This is not how humans work. So it should be redone to please the masses very soon or the backlash will kick in. (this is not exactly what i think but the only option left for Bungie). Regarding that misogynism - this is the webs and not much better than /b maybe there´s IS actually a lot of /b in here. Pardon me what do you expect - a lot of pacifists participating in a war? ;)

Even though I typically do well in PvP, I agree 100%. The way crucible is designed gets rid of old problems, but it does create some problems that people haven't encountered before. Since it's new, they make a huge deal out of it because no one likes change. They have to try and understand if Bungie is attempting to revolutionize shooters, then there will be some change involved, and they will either have to accept it or stop playing
