PATROLS: Just an idea

Hey Bungie. Loving the game. A thought I had about patrols. I was thinking... "there are these beacons out in the world... and what's the story behind them?" There is always voice acting when you activate one, and someone at the Tower is telling me they need some resources from Fallen Dregs (as an example) for this or that. I was thinking that it would be cool to have that actually in the game. Here's what I mean: if Ikora wants me to get a resource... let there be an actual number of these that the community must recover, and then something happens... an addition to the tower, some gear becomes available, the next step in the resource gathering begins for an even larger project that results in an even more significant result at the end once all is gathered..., etc. Maybe a board similar to the bounty board, but actually lists what "projects" are happening, and what resources are needed. Not all beacons need to contribute to these... but I think it would be fun to take part in a large project with the community (each Guardian still only gathers, say... 10 at a time for those 10 or 12 rep points), and at the end have us all get the sense of accomplishment when we see the new statue in the tower, or get the new Scout Rifle from the Gunsmith, or new ship at the Shipwright. The possibilities on this seem limitless. Also, just as a side note: I love the fact that there is no trading available in Destiny, and I really hope this never changes. I think it was an idea that was not very well received because people have not been used to that restriction - but that does not provide enough basis to prove that it was a flawed idea to have the restriction in the game... I just think that people didn't have enough time and experience with it yet to fully appreciate the enjoyment that it provides to those who play Destiny at length. I am proud of the Guardians that I am building, and I would only have that satisfaction if I built it myself, rather than someone giving me the Chatterwhite shader. Keep up the great work, and thank you for building Destiny. I'm learning to be brave. - Son of Korah
