Yes, get rid of it. It is a bullshit mechanic. Levels should be done by subclass anyways. Level up to 15 per normal then the extra 15 levels are done by subclass. You shouldn't be forced to grind for hours and hours for gear to level up. You should be grinding for hours and hours to get the gear because it actually DOES something like a status effect you want.
