You are missing out on NOTHING. Here is why:
Prepatch: Say you got 10 legendary engrams out of 20 hrs of farming. Only one of those turned legendary, the rest turned into blues.
Postpatch: Say you got 1 legendary from 20 hrs of farming. That is a guaranteed legendary.
Both prepatch as postpatch, 20 hrs of farming netted you ONE legendary.
The droprate has changed BUT your engram will never devalue, so in the end the rate at which you get legendaries has stayed the same.

No, the decreased drop rate far outweighs the guaranteed legendary stuff.

This man speaks the truth. You still get legendary items from engrams at the same rate, but without experiencing your hopes and dreams get shattered by a legendary engram yielding a rare item.

false. I got around 1 Exotics and 2 to 3 legendarys per 10 purple engrams, and 1 legendary per 10 rare engrams. That's pre patch. post I got 3 engrams for over 20 hours of playing. Yes a got alot of blues but no purples from them.

Not false. RNG. On AVERAGE, it has stayed the same. Prepatch, the only legendaries I ever got from legendary engrams were 2 Unfriendly Giants. After the patch, I have had 2 blues turn into purples, 2 purples turn into purples, and 1 purple turn into yellow, so for me things went better after the patch.
