Give it an extra round or two in the mag and make the dot stack. It makes the gun viable for pve by bringing the damage output up but doesn't mess with it being a 2-3 shot kill in pvp. Problem solved, I like this gun, mine is one damage perk from being completely finished but my half finished lord high fixer still drags it through the mud in most situations and basically any auto rifle is better at everything compared to thorn.

  • Extra mag won't fix it compared to a legendary. It needs to be better.

  • 35-45 dot tick x 8 added to its base damage for 5 seconds would make this gun a viable damage dealer. The reload speed and round count wouldn't be an issue if the weapon cranked out appropriate damage. This way makes thorn a heavy hitting magnum compared to the last words fast fire rate and the middle of the road chance damage hawk moon. If they make the gun reload faster it will become and issue in pvp, you know how that will end don't you, and increasing the round count to 11 just makes it the same handcannon as all the legendaries. Making the dot stack and reset with each shot would make this handcannon stand out like it's supposed to without incurring the wrath of the bungie nerf bat.

  • So you like my suggestions? Your numbers sound ok, except the bonus damage for hitting dotted targets. I think an extra 20 per shot would be about right. Maybe 35. I dunno really. Or better yet 50% more damage for a HS on marked targets.

  • I just used those number because they seem to be in that range depending on the enemy. The damage scaling in this game seems almost random or backwards. Shoot a low level mob and do low damage shoot a high level mob and do high damage. I like this gun and I just don't want to see it made too powerful then get nerfed right away.
