Add Matchmaking for Raids, Nightfall and Heroic Strikes please

Yes, add matchmaking for these features

No, they are fine the way they are

Can't decide

It's really annoying to have to wait for people to get on to form a group for Raids, Nightfalls and Heroic strikes, especially since we can't go to a public area like the Tower and recruit due to the voice chat restrictions imposed in the game. Not to mention it's hard to find people of the right level as well. Matchmaking would make this so much easier and make getting gear and leveling it less of a hassle. The Matchmaking could look for players of similar level to match you with to make sure you're not going in with anyone too low to survive, as well as balance the group by diversifying the classes, bringing in 2 of each class for raids (2 titan, 2 warlock, 2 hunter) and one of each for the Nightfall and Heroic strikes. While on the topic of Strikes, it would also behoove the player base if we could finally be able to voice chat with our random fire team members instead of having to form parties through the dashboard (X360 and XB1 versions). This should also be allowed in the Tower as well so those who are looking to form specific groups of people for Raids can do so much easier by simply talking to those around them. Being able to openly communicate with others is a staple of MMOs. Not allowing us to do is counter intuitive towards the game play in Destiny. Also, we should be able to choose the difficulty of the Raids between normal and hard. The same goes for regular strikes as well. We should be able to play strikes up to level 30 as well as difficulty modifiers for players to challenge themselves. The higher the level and difficulty modifiers, the greater the rewards. With the addition of PoE, matchmaking should be added for all modes of that activity as well, not just level 28.

I don't see why people are she-dogging so much about there being match making for raids. Moronic complaint: "Duuur, I don't want to get paired with scrubbzzesszz cuz I iz so tuuubo leet, duur" Intelligent Reply: Well, if you've already got your team put together before you even launch the mission and the slots are all full, then what do you have to worry about whether or not the raid has match making at all? You don't have to "opt-in" for anything. You've already got your team ready. The game won't have to search for any more players. Geeze, you people are frigging morons. I mean, HELLO, they're called brains, use them. All Match Making will do is knock the leet jerks off of their high horses because they won't be the only ones in max gear and level anymore because they won't be the sole ones getting into the raids. It gives everyone a fair shot at getting gear, lets people meet and see who is good and who isn't, thus being able to form more dedicated teams, and improves the quality of the game play by giving the community more methods of socialization which, for an MMO, Destiny LACKS severely.

I recently started playing again since I feel Bungie has addressed a lot of the issues I had with the game, but the lack of matchmaking for these modes remains the single biggest problem for me. The majority of my friends just aren't into Destiny and prefer other games, and because of this I basically get locked out of all this great content as I'm playing. It just doesn't seem right, I've played the game a whole lot and enjoy the gameplay, but it's putting up barriers in front of modes I would really like to try, when it should be helping and encouraging me to engage with that content. It could be completely optional, and heck they could even put up a difficulty warning and suggest that teams really need to work together, I can't imagine anyone having a problem with that... And who cares if more teams fail? There's no penalty for failing. Also, if they want to stick with this philosophy with Raids, that's one thing, but withholding matchmaking from the weekly nightfall and prison of elders is baffling to me. These are standard multiplayer modes that most people in matchmaking would be able to handle. And again, if they can't, then so be it, but please give us the option! The changes they've made to the leveling system, as well as merging the mark currencies (not to mention removing the weekly cap, what was that idea about anyways? It's like they wanted me to stop playing) have made me really like the game, but I still won't love it until they implement some damn matchmaking across all modes lol

      • Completely agree with matchmaking - as someone who works and has family commitments I cannot simply commit to playing the game on a regular schedule with a pre-made strike team, matchmaking as an absolute lifesaver for me who logs on only about once a week (although I am still level 32 and complete the weekly heroic pretty easily most weeks). It is so annoying essentially being locked out of half the post-level 20 game because my circumstances stop me being able to join a strike team. Maybe it will be impossible for a group of 6 randoms to complete the Vault of Glass, but shouldn't we at least be allowed to try?

        • i don't really understand how it would hurt the game to give people the choice of matchmaking..? Because we might get teamed up with random losers and bad sports?? I already get this all the time. Because I have to find people on LFG or here on Bungie.net to find random people to play with.. I don't know them from a brick in the wall.... same as i don't know match made people from a brick in the wall...What's the difference? Can you not essentially give us a little button that can switch matchmaking to "manual" or "auto".. I'm god damn sick of doing it manually man... I'd rather spend my time actually playing the game.. rather than spending hours searching for a fireteam online.. ridiculous. Only to have them kick me out because I'm a lower lvl.. (even if I perform better). And then i'm back out of the game, spending time on a computer looking for another fireteam. Really??? That's what you want us doing Bungie?? I thought you actually wanted more people PLAYING your game..

          • Matchmaking is a must. A lack of matchmaking is a huge reason why I won't continue with this franchise.

            • I have a lot of friends on XBox that just don't play destiny enough. A lot of my friends aren't die hard gamers and unfortunately I have a few friend who are stuck up about their call of duty or battlefield and refuse to try destiny. I have a hard time finding friends capable of doing things like PoE with me, and it's just about impossible to find friends to do raids with for players like me who aren't elite gamers with hundreds of online destiny friends. For this reason, I would love to have the oppurtunity at matchmaking for these things. If I have the chance to throw together a fireteam, absolutely I would rather do that than any matchmaking, but I can't always do that. It bothers me that Destiny is being so tailored to die hard gamers with a big friend base. That's great for that 10% of gamers, but not for the majority 90%ers like me. Bungie isn't giving the average player the chance at a fair experience. Only the "game or die" players have a chance to get great gear in raids and PoE, and for the average player I have to grind out strange coins or the rare exotic bounty for good gear. I have had the game since the beginning an have played hundreds of hours and only have 5 exotics to show for it, while if I had the chance at raids and nightfalls and high level PoE, I could be better equipped and be able to have more to do. It feels like only half the game is open to the average player and I find myself getting more and more frustrated playing games like cod when I'd honestly much rather be playing destiny. Simply put, without an abundance of friends, I'm only getting half the experience from Bungie and it's unfortunately turning me off from a great game. I honestly don't know how much more I'll convince myself to play without these opportunities and always ending up missing out and always doing the same things over and over in the games. If Bugnie wants to compete as an elite developer with huge games in the future, I think they need to do a better job opening it up to casual/average gamers.

              • This is a standard in other MMOs is there any reason why it is unreasonable to expect it in Destiny? It seems perfectly reasonable to me and necessary.

              • I don't see this being anything I'd use. From time to time it has sounded like a good idea, like when my laptop fried. But there's already ways around it, add someone in the tower. Have them post to lfg..etc etc.. it doesn't have an efficient or smooth workaround; albeit I would hope companies like bungie and Activision would strive themselves on harder problems than patching the spindle. Simply put, if and when they add match making, your looking at the next dlc. It would need thorough testing etc

              • Go run court of oryx for awhile until someone puts in a antiquated rune. Once you see how unorganized this fight can be. Then ask yourself what it would be like if it were a raid.

              • No matchmaking for raids or nightfall. I don't want scrubs joining if someone gets an error.

              • there should be a matchmaking system that you can opt out of if you so choice. but for those "normal people" that don't spend hours playing video games but instead only have a few hours after work they don't want to waste there time on some website trolling for a raid group to then find a group 3 hours later and not be able to run the raid because they have to go to work the next day. just put in match making already. the reason for not having match making is a joke because there reason is that the raid and nightfall stikes are to hard to complete with out a group that know each other and works well together. however with this out of game match making that everyone is using already proves that the difficulty of the nightfall and raids are not imposible for 3 or 6 complete random strangers to do. just require a mic and give the option to opt out and every one will be happy. but if they keep making parts of the game only open to a select few that have tons of online friends and not to the normal people of the world this game will soon die out and they will lose the masses and it will be a shame. and to prove this point the number of people who still play this game has dropped every time they come out with an update

              • Yeah Bungie, If I can't get automatic matchmaking in the nightfall strike I'm about to drop the game and go back to GTA Online and Battlefield 4, no more upgrade purchases from this account. Think about it, give us what we want. I'm sure there are ways to opt in or opt out. Remember, you make this game for the GAMERS not for BUNGIE's amusement. Thanks all.

Yes please. I'm a solo player and it's impossible to accomplish these tasks singlehandedly. It should be possible to choose whether you want matchmaking or whether you want to do it your own way, similar to choosing heroic modifiers on story missions.

Noooooo - I love dropping out of the game to jump into 3rd party plucky shoe string budget, non integrated apps - spending hours waiting to be teamed with well.......... and then running with a luck dip team. It's adds texture and earthy grit to my Destiny experience. EDIT : this excludes my LFG and 100.io colleagues :)

              • I wouldn't say matchmaking, but maybe LFG in the game itself. Like a billboard showing guardian requests. It would show their GT and gear. Then request to join. You'll know who you'll be fighting with. You'll who what their using.
