Add Matchmaking for Raids, Nightfall and Heroic Strikes please
It's really annoying to have to wait for people to get on to form a group for Raids, Nightfalls and Heroic strikes, especially since we can't go to a public area like the Tower and recruit due to the voice chat restrictions imposed in the game. Not to mention it's hard to find people of the right level as well. Matchmaking would make this so much easier and make getting gear and leveling it less of a hassle.
The Matchmaking could look for players of similar level to match you with to make sure you're not going in with anyone too low to survive, as well as balance the group by diversifying the classes, bringing in 2 of each class for raids (2 titan, 2 warlock, 2 hunter) and one of each for the Nightfall and Heroic strikes.
While on the topic of Strikes, it would also behoove the player base if we could finally be able to voice chat with our random fire team members instead of having to form parties through the dashboard (X360 and XB1 versions). This should also be allowed in the Tower as well so those who are looking to form specific groups of people for Raids can do so much easier by simply talking to those around them. Being able to openly communicate with others is a staple of MMOs. Not allowing us to do is counter intuitive towards the game play in Destiny.
Also, we should be able to choose the difficulty of the Raids between normal and hard. The same goes for regular strikes as well. We should be able to play strikes up to level 30 as well as difficulty modifiers for players to challenge themselves. The higher the level and difficulty modifiers, the greater the rewards.
With the addition of PoE, matchmaking should be added for all modes of that activity as well, not just level 28.

Without some sort of endgame matchmaking system i am going to quit playing because i can no longer grind for loot without it and not enough people are on when i am on to form a party and im afraid if this does not happen i am done playing i am already extremely bored just because i can't do endgame content unless i have 6 friends online add this or your community will slowly die off!

I have family and I play a lot but all my friends are west coast I'm east coast so play time never matches up . plus I'm an average solid player been soloing sicne day 1 and I have only run into idiots occasionally I have hundreds of hours on this game with not very much reward due to no match making on nightfall and raids . ...so please add matchmaking for us older gen campaign players and younger pve guys . Maybe you could do raid matchmaking but make it so you have to have a mic it could detect wether they have one on or not . You would have to have mics for the Raid ! . nightfall you could get away not using one . Or add more gestures so we can equip 4 instead of 1

2 RepliesI got the PS4 some months ago and i started Destiny about a month ago. It's the reason i bought it since i never had a console, i was playing games on my desktop. The game is awesome and i love the random matchmaking for strikes, even heroics although sometimes we don't make it. Trying of course makes me a better shooter since i have a hard time playing with a controller. Still day by day i am getting better. I was unhappy to see that apart from the strikes i can't join a group and meet new players in any other form of activity in the game. I hate pvp so i am mostly a pve player. The content is great but i get bored soon doing story missions alone. None of my ps4 friends play Destiny so who to play with ? I don't know how to find a group to join a raid or the nightfall weekly. There's a wall there for me to move on. Let me suggest a system (if it's possible of happening of course) in matchmaking. Before joining a nightfall/raid/strike etc you should state your light level / class (game should confirm it if its the truth though) so the game can search an appropriate group. Even in raids you can state if you are going to play a specific role (carrier/jumper etc). Of course most of this can happen automatically if bungie wants. This wouldn't take out the "pick-friends" option in raids etc. It's just an addition for people who don't have friends to play on. Is it so hard to do ?

Maybe not the raid but the nightfall for sure. After all the whole reason there wasn't matchmaking is because it returned you to orbit.

No no and no...you know the people you find in court of oryx those are the people you'll get matched with in a raid... This is the dumbest thread just cause you whine and moan cause you camt to the raid doesnt mean matchmaking is the solution if your that bad that teams dont want u then the people you get matches witg will just leave anyways and get a better team

I like it. Also, try doing PoE with 2 Canadian adults who are lvl 28 and 25. That is hard. And fun. Got over 250 kills, under 10 deaths, with over 120 revives. They were HILARIOUS. "I'm back in, nope, now I'm not."

Brb waiting for 5 randoms to join at sisters checkpoint. Omg 3 have no mic. Omg the guy who got torn doesn't jump on the right plate. Omg 1 left because he only wanted the checkpoint. Zomg I'm torn and no1 wants to get on the plate. Got the immortality but no1 is doing dps and running around dying. Turns off console

Even the Taken King is getting repetitive and boring now without matchmaking for raids and nightfall , like the first Year I will probably take a 10 month holiday from as its too hard to get to play this content .

The people who don't want matchmaking are the ones who have an easy time getting a group together. Add it as an option, everyone is happy

How about a toggle for matchmaking, so people can solo content? Then matchmaking could be applied to all content. Everyone wins.

Bump because Destiny needs matchmaking for all instances. And let there be a cancel button if you don't want to match make and just dive straight into the instance.

On most matchmaking. I'm a 32 hunter. But can't find anyone willing to work with a hunter-gunslinger on level 32 POE. AND NO NOT EVEN ON LFG PAGES OR APPS. I do not do trials. "Why?" You ask.... because that is where all the elitism is. YOU ASSHOLES FORGET YOU NEEDED HELP TO GET WERE YOU ARE. I have done all kinds of raids, strikes, weeklies and bounties.just to help people out. I would prefer optional matchmaking, available for all activities, but it has to be optional. One of the most challenging experiences in this game is soloing night falls, I use to enjoy soloing the weekly. Sadly that is now not possible.

If it's optional, fine. I miss soloing the Heroic and don't want Nightfalls taken away too.

Agreed. Dont pay attention to those that tell you to post an ad. If they dont like it, they can form their own fireteam and do it that way. I think matchmaking would be nice.

I totally agree. Finding groups for the nightfall, and large raids is a huge pain. PLEASE ADD THIS BUNGIE!!! (Come on, would it really be that hard? We have been begging for this for like years now)

And for those people complaining about other players not putting enough effort, offer an alternative instead of downplaying the need for matchmaking. For example, bungie could implement a voting system where players can vote to kick someone out of the strike team if needed. I am an engineering student and simple do not have the time to search online for strike teams. I like the game, but the lack of this basic feature is putting me off. I haven't even complete the vault of glass because of this.

No matchmaking was the reason I stopped playing. Got tired of having to use another device so I can find a team just so I can play a video game. Add matchmaking of any kind and I might come back. Until then I won't sink anymore time, effort and money into this game.

You don't have to "opt-in" for anything. You've already got your team ready. The game won't have to search for any more players. Geeze, you people are frigging morons. I mean, HELLO, they're called brains, use them. All Match Making will do is knock the leet jerks off of their high horses because they won't be the only ones in max gear and level anymore because they won't be the sole ones getting into the raids. It gives everyone a fair shot at getting gear, lets people meet and see who is good and who isn't, thus being able to form more dedicated teams, and improves the quality of the game play by giving the community more methods of socialization which, for an MMO, Destiny LACKS severely.
