If you're a good shot then yes, fusion rifles are OP but being a good shot can make anything OP so thats a moot point. Personally I think fusion rifles are a pain in the ass to aim consistently, most of my kills with them are flukes and I consider myself a pretty good shot. Frankly anyone who can cancel out the recoil and bullet spread on them deserves the kill.

My LIGHT/BEWARE fusion rifle has close to full stability bar and the perk to increase stability when firing off the hip.. Just saying that there are people using that in the crucible when I've one shotted level 24 hobgoblins from a range where my pulse rifle was loosing damage.. It gets a little bit obvious to some people..

I bought a fusion rifle to see why people use it and its actually not that hard to control. The range and damage on those weapons are pretty incredible. I just like shotguns more because I tend to be an aggressor and I would like it if my weapon shot when I pulled the trigger.

Its good for PVE but I find in PVP when you're in the midst of a battle it can be troublesome. Its a good ambush weapon but if someone's already shooting at you the recoil from the bullet impact makes aiming pretty difficult. Then again the stability on my fusion rifle isn't very high so maybe its just me.

Fusion rifles are more of a passive weapon compared to shotguns. With fusion rifles I found it much more better to keep a good distance from the enemy since the damage will still be enough to kill them. I don't find myself in hectic battles with it
