1. Snipers need to hit an enemy with precision damage to kill them. Sniper Rifle also has the weakness of being harder to effectively use in close range. Fusion rifles have neither problem. It's why they are better than sniper rifles. 2. You don't need to be even remotely close to kill them with the burst. Shotguns without specific upgrades (Full Auto, Send It, Tighter Grouping) need to be absurdly close to have even the chance to one-shot. Even at point blank range fusion rifles have a more reliable spread of damage. It's what makes them better than shotguns. 3. You start with the ammo, the ammo is plentiful, and you run no risk of killing yourself with it ever. While a fusion rifle isn't better than a rocket launcher in every situation, there are some situations where a fusion rifle is a better weapon. Depending on range using a rocket launcher might not even be an option, machine guns don't really kill faster than a fusion rifle, and heavy weapons are slow and cumbersome weapons. It's literally a better weapon overall than heavy weapons. Let's be honest, there are plenty of people out there using the gun at any range/every situation/in preference to every other gun type. People don't do that if a weapon isn't broken. All the other reasonable points aside, that one is a glaring beacon on the horizon that the gun needs to be nerfed. The weapon's only trade off is a sub second charge time that is shorter than a Hunter activating a super. Frankly a shotgun without fully automatic fire will get outpaced in shots by a fusion rifle. It's "charge" is a joke of a weakness. Nothing will kill an enemy faster that doesn't one-shot. A fusion rifle should have a substantial charge up period. It should take enough time where players can react. In excess of a full second. As it stands it can outpace the damage any other weapon can do over time, and it can outburst everything in the game outside a precision shot from a sniper rifle, shotgun, or close range rocket launcher round. That's pretty over the top. If you profess it isn't broken then you are either clueless or lying through your teeth.
