I grind to get my Warlock to Vanguard rank 4 and eagerly wait see my reward and it is a set of Legendary gloves... For a Titan. Why?? What kind of mean spirited stuff is this? I thought it was bad when I bought an engram from Xur and he gave me a helmet for a Titan. Fair enough. Never buy engrams from Xur again. Got it. But my Vanguard ranking up should never give me something for another class. All those bounties for this? I've really liked Destiny (I am level 27) but it's beginning to feel like the rewards system is mean and foul.
How do you get so high in the leveling? I'm at 24 and I hear that the way you level up changes at level 24. What do you have to do. I'm a Titan, btw.

 • Looks like your question was answered pretty well. I'm up to level 28 now. I bought all of my legendary armor from the Vanguard except for my chest armor (I got that through the Queen's bounty event). As you upgrade your legendary armor's defense you will get more Light and you will progressively go up levels. I'm 28 and I've only completely leveled up my helmet and gloves. My chest armor and boots have a couple more defense circles to full in but I need more Ascendants. Even though I complained about that Titan gear I did break it down for 2 Ascendants which helped me level up my gloves.

 • You can also buy a piece of exotic armor from Xur. It costs 13 strange coins and he comes Friday till Saturday.

 • No problem. A lot of people rely on random drops which is terrible. All you have to do is rank up your vanguard and crucible rank to 2 then just buy the armor from the vendors with marks.

Does it matter who I buy the armor from? Whether it's crucible or vanguard?

 • By the way, the best way to get marks to buy gear (I only do PVE. I don't play PVP although an exotic bounty is now forcing me to) is to do the Daily Story and Public Events. The Daily Story (on the left of destination screen) will give you 5 Vanguard marks. Public Events will give you 4 per and if you do them on Earth they're on a pretty regular timer. The Walker one is always at 15/45 on the hour (give or take a couple of minutes). You can search for the times of the others. Using the 2 methods above I shoot for 20 marks a day. If you play Crucible then just keep doing that and earning Crucible marks.

 • You get exotic bounties by random when you turn in bounties you've completed. To increase your chances do as many bounties as possible every day and turn multiple in at a time. I've gotten three exotic bounties that way (I'm doing the two with the least PVP).

 • No it doesn't just inspect the armor before and make sure to go with the pieces that will benefit your play style the most. Good luck !
