More bee fun!

As always, bee everywhere. Xbox One, DMZ, Open NAT, all suggested ports forwarded, on the least crowded channel, not on a campus, wireless internet, 0% packet loss. But it's my end. Yeah. Anyways, I'm doing testing, and will update this after more testing. Here are some tests and results. TEST: Wired vs. wireless RESULTS: Wired or wireless, still be. TEST: See how many games out of ten that I can get through in Iron Banner. RESULTS: One. And I lost. This is great for IB rep. TEST: PvP areas affected. RESULTS: Iron Banner, Control, Clash. TEST: PvE areas affected. RESULTS: Occasionally the Tower. VoG is affected heavily. TEST: Bandwidth? RESULTS: Disconnected everything but xbox from wifi. Bee. TEST: Account specific? RESULTS: Brother's account. Bee. TEST: ISP/router/modem specific? RESULTS: Neighbor with same ISP, router, and modem. No bee. TEST: Any signals it gives before occurring? RESULTS: None common enough to make me believe so. CURRENT FINDINGS: Bee is not cause by packet loss. Bee is not preceded by lag. Bee occurs wherever there is a team of 6 (includes Control, IB, Clash, VoG, and occasionally tower. team does NOT mean fire team). Bee is not specific to any ONE thing, be it ISP, router, or modem. Bee is not affected by wired vs wireless. Bee is not affected by bandwidth gain/loss. BUNGIE: Stop telling us that it is our internet. My findings prove that it is not. Don't tell me there is a 53% reduction in bee errors when all I see in these "forums" are more and more people coming with bee, and none saying "thanks for fixing bee, bungie". I love Destiny, I really do. But when you bring out the Iron Banner with only a 6v6 mode that those of us with bee CAN NOT PLAY, it is very frustrating to us. We know you're trying to fix the issue. I know centipede/zebra takes priority. But, please don't mock us with the Iron Banner. And please stop repeating the same old " it's you, not us; open your ports". We believe in you guys. Please help us. EVERYONE ELSE: Any suggestions for more tests I can do?

    • Having the same issue. No packet loss and no improvement switching to wired. Yesterday i spent an hour and a half in the raid, did weekly, nightfall and daily, played 3 control matches without any bee errors, but went into iron banner and got bee in 4 out of 7 games. Played 3 iron banner matches so far today and bee in 2 of them. Are they using some sort of special needs server just for iron banner or something? Cos I'm sure the problem isn't at my end. Bungie owe us so much iron banner standing!

    • I'm in the same boat. I've done absolutely everything possible to fix my bee error and many other errors. No success here.

    • I can't stop getting bee errors, I play just fine in strikes and regular story, I can do raid just fine too.. only when I go to the crucible do I get kicked either 3 minutes into the game or at the very end.. this is absolutely ridiculous.. I got the game 3 weeks ago and I have completed 1 crucible match after countless times of trying to play online

    • Greetings I am here in the hopes of finding help. You see the problem is I have so much trouble getting to the tower. . Why you ask ? Beaver, leopard, Flatworm, Caterpillar, Apple, Eel, Rabbit, Fly, Centipede, Jackrabbit, Anteater, Quail, Baboon, Impala, Gopher, Jellyfish. Canary, Newt, Bee, Cat, Stinkbug, Zebra, Bass, Wessel, Pineapple, Kingfisher, Elk, Chicken, Currant, Marion berry, Beetle. These are most of the error codes I have come across in my time playing destiny. I believe a lot of these errors have been solved as I do not see most of them any more, But the problem still persists. When I play destiny in takes me on average 4 - 6 attempts to get into the tower. and when I do finally get there I could be there for a minute or an hour. Sometimes I get in first times other times I just give up and walk away. This is very frustrating for me as I really enjoy playing destiny but I can not take the anguish any more. Now I am not here to point fingers name names or call people out, Nor am I here to abuse or go on a tyrannical rant. I am here seeking help so I can once again enjoy my destiny experience. Here is what I no because I have try to work this problem out and fix it myself and although I have had success the problem is getting worse. I have a PS4 It has a static IP and DMZ I have opened all the ports according to the bungie help section. And when I first did this (opening the ports the rest was in place) I had immediate success and had the most solid connection. not one error code and one drop off I was ecstatic. Then along came Hotfix - 10/14/2014 and it undid all the work from my end and the error codes came back to haunt me. It started with taking multiple attempts to get to the tower, Then I started getting kicked from activities not very often but as time has progressed the error codes the drop offs have steadily increased. for example yesterday it took me 3 attempt's to do the daily event on one character and I have 3 characters ( and no its not because I don't have thumbs ) I have try doing activities with friends and solo it makes little to no difference. The main error code I am getting now are Beaver, Leopard, Flatworm, Rabbit and Quail. Please someone. . . anyone can you help me fix this issues I am having or point me in the direction of the problem ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for time and energy.

      • Well said! I've been "bee'd" and "anteater'ed" to the point of exhaustion... crucible and VOG (ie, the places people want to play.). Sorry to see Bungie reply with "really, we're working on it, we promise..." Invest some of the $500M in *bandwidth* please Bungie!

        Just want to thank you for these test results, because I have done the exact same ones. I have the EXACT same issues that you do, I've had AT&T to my house twice and said everything is fine and its on bungies end. I just figured out last night that it was a 6 person team that I was getting kicked from. Been trying to do bad juju bounty through clash and control and get kicked 90% of the time, but after switching to rumble ran perfectly no errors. Please fix this issue because half the game isn't available for some people. Love this game btw and a huge bungie fan.

      • I never had this problem before, since the last update I can not play for more than a few minutes, already open router ports and my NAT on XBOX306 is open... I do not know what to do, I am very sad.

I truly love this game and I've waited the Iron Banner since the Beta...but I have to thanks Bee for the great Game experience-.-' My Internet is ok,nat is open, I play online every other game and I don't have a Single problem. Usually Bee kick me off in the crucible, and I love crucible.... Please FIX your servers!!! Please, we payed for this game, is our RIGHT.

        • My Nat says moderate and I don't really have many errors. Never seen the bee error. I'm on comcast cable with private internet. All ports forwarded (it used to say open on my old 360 but it changed to moderate on the new one for some reason but plays just as well). I guess moderate just means you can't play with strict... And I think it's those strict players that screw things up. So maybe try to get to be moderate.

        • I just want to be able to play 6v6 crucible. It's nearly 2 months that thousands of us have been suffering with bee. I do appreciate the updates on the bee web page, but we need to see something improve soon or else many of us are just going to leave. There is a limit to the number of open ended and vague "we're doing our best" or "there'll be a patch soon" promises that I'm prepared to tolerate. This is a £50 game that doesn't work for thousands of us. I certainly am not paying for any DLC until I can actually play the game without being booted by your servers.

        • I've only ever been kicked because of Bee once since the game released, but tonight I was kicked from the daily Heroic 5 times in one hour! (I wasn't in a fireteam and I couldn't see anyone else around). Every time it happened I got to the last room before the final fight on Chamber of Night. Out of no-where I get a black screen then an error message. Checked my connection and it was fine, and I've never had a connection issue before, with any game (apart from BF4 - damn rubber banding!) Please fix this asap Bungie. I feel bad complaining about it because clearly other people have suffered far more than I have, but we just want to enjoy the amazing game you have created. Instead it's silly stuff like this that makes people leave.

        • Last night was a complete nightmare. Bee every 2 minutes, Zebra, Vulture, Fly... But mostly Bee, Bee, Bee, Bee... I couldn't do any activities, where I had a chance to meet other players.

        • I thank you for saying this: "and none saying "thanks for fixing bee, bungie" Why? Because Bungie claims they have reduced these bee related connection issues (I have them to) by 53 %.. but there is still no one who claims that he got rid of this bee-fest. I hope you see where I am going with this.. ;) I see them doing a lot of pr damage control.. but I don't see them offering any support or something like this. I don't even believe they are currentely working on a fix. It's more like we are some low priority problem they've got..

          • I get Bee every time I use the crucible. Worse with higher numbers of players. I also get it in the Tower. This clearly suggests it is a bug with the client update stack code. My ISP is the major UK one, my Xbone is set-up exactly as they specify. I have a smooth 8MB connection and a latency of 150. Their excuses are nonsense. **Someone at Bungee should be sacked over this** Basho

            • I was connecting fine when Destiny was released, then 2 weeks later I kept getting kicked from everything. I tried to play the raid 3 times but got kicked by the team because I kept getting kicked by error bee. I gave up and didn't play for a week, I come back and the problem still exists. This has to be the most frustrating game i've ever played. I hope this is fixed by christmas..

            • It seems in this weekly update that bungie has at least partially admitted they screwed something up with bee. Instead of saying "x% of players don't get bee anymore, trust us!", they now admit that the update actually made MORE bee errors happen. I believe this is the first time in a weekly update that they've said anything about bee? If it is, then we finally have their attention, which brings us closer to some bee repellant.

            • That is some great testing you have done. I feel a bit more informed about bee, and more importantly not alone. Like others in this topic the frequency of the bee error seems to coincide with the number of people around me. It can and will happen anywhere. It mostly happens while in the Tower or in the Crucible. Like you 3v3 or Rumble (6 person free for all) will work just fine. But throw me in a 6v6 or an up to 16 people per instance tower and it will attract the bees. I usually go to the roster tab and see how many people are in the tower while my ship is landing to see how likely it is I will get the bee. Curiously enough sometimes even with a full town I will stay connected, although if I stay in town too long I will bee out. Sometimes I get "Contacting Destiny servers" message and sometimes I don't. When I do I notice a bit of lag in the town when turning in bounties or doing some other form of exchange with NPCs. (I will bee out, but still get my items and rep after I am in orbit) It also can happen to me while on patrol, a strike, or story mission. Sometimes the game puts in enough people around me to bee out. Although your findings do puzzle me a little. You stated you stayed in a crucible game with the same people and didn't get bee. If your theory about their connection giving you the bee is true then wouldn't other people nearby in game, and including your neighbor if they are in the same game, get the bee error? I don't really know what the cause of the bee error is, sometimes I think it is my slow connection (1.5 Mbps download, 256kb upload). I have done all that has been suggested by Bungie. While their patch last week (like 10/7 or so) did help a little, the problem is still there. Since that patch I have been able to complete 1 control game, that's it. I do get the occasional error, like pineapple and quail but those are few and far between. Hopefully they fix the problem, since so may people are still having the problem, it obviously is not the fault of our internet.
