You're missing the whole idea behind the Iron Banner. Maybe Bungie will do another event and call it the Velvet Banner or something and everyone can get rep just for showing up. There will be other events. Other events will be all inclusive and allow everyone to easily get everything they want. Queen's wrath was one of those. There is one event so far in Destiny that is not all inclusive and that is Iron Banner. Is it okay for Bungie to make one event that is a team based skill event? Let the hardcore players have one event.

Raid gear is the only way to get 30 light. It's not about getting max level with the gear. It's about getting exclusive gear. Only people that work their butt off and are skilled will get the Iron Banner gear.

Honestly, if you have the raid gear it's a waste of shards. If shard it long before I'd upgrade or wear it just because I can't maintain level 30 wearing it. Would much rather save shards for the next set of raid gear to be released.

I don't think it will be shardable a la Queen's wrath gear was not. If Destiny adds a vanity feature though in the future it would definitely be nice to have.

Sure, nice for vanity, however I'm struggling with grinding hours in the crucible for vanity purposes. Really, they should have light level 30 armor with crucible specific bonuses for the pinnacle of PvP.

What's 5 rep to the top 2 on the losing team compared to the 30+ you get for winning? Nothing but an incentive to keep playing which is all I'm trying to get at.

I got to rank 3 the first day IB came out. Why can't everyone just be like me ?" 1st, no.. stop. 2nd, you sound like people who get an exotic through sheer luck and then xur comes around the corner selling the same exotic and you're complaining that anyone can buy the exotic that you feel you earned through whatever you want to call it.

I'm currently at rank 1. I tried going into Iron Banner solo and it doesn't work. I then made a new friend and joined Iron Banner as a fireteam. We started winning. I'm just trying to tell you how you can get rep. If you don't want to take my advice then don't. Don't expect Bungie to make it easier though for you for this event. I could care less about Xur selling exotics. If someone sucks at PVP and they have an exotic it's not going to make them a better player.

No trust me, I know that being in a fireteam is a huge advantage over a group of rando's. What I don't think you get though is even if you join up with another person or 2 which is what I try to do most of the time (definitely doesn't work out that way at all), you still have people who leave your team, leaving you with a man or more down from the other team.

Yeah that sounds like a great idea. Why is it so hard for you to think giving the top 1 or 2 people on the losing team 5 rep towards the IB is a decent idea?

Voice chat in Iron Banner is a HUGE advantage. You can call out strategies to team mates. You can warn them not to run into a room that has an enemy using their super. You can use flanking strategies. In the forums you can look at their Crucible stats and see if they are any good. It would be making some effort instead of just hoping RNG is in your favor for matchmaking.

Easier said than done. Only have 2 RL friends who play the game and they don't even play that often, and I am in a clan but by the time I get on everyone is off. Everyone I run into in the tower, before I join up for IB, never responds so it's pointless to try and team up with rando's until Bungie adds the complete public voice chat option

Have you read the forums???? By your appearance here I'm going to assume that you have. Can you imagine the forums in game voice chat. It would be a nightmare.

Luckily the public voice chat would basically have an "on/off" switch. They've already been talking about it at Bungie so you don't NEED to join a fireteam in order to have voice chat with others. Until that happens, I think matchmaking in the IB is pointless if you can't join fireteams with friends every time you personally want to run some IB. And God knows when they will actually add that option in, which is why I think it would be a little more incentive to stay in if we still got 5 rep for losing.

I really don't want to have to stop every 5 mins and mute some random player whose being a jerk. The only way it could work is if everyone was muted and you could unmute certain players. Maybe another option is if someone gets muted by one player they are muted by all other players in the area automatically and then they would have to unmute them to hear them. Maybe an icon that shows that the person is trying to talk to you and you could then unmute them to hear what they have to say. Maybe allow voice chat whenever you have another guardian selected with a quick button to unmute them if they prove to be intelligible. Anything but just turning the forums into the public voice chat. Let the hardcore players have one event. Casual players can have all the other events. Leave Iron Banner alone.

Afaik you will have the option to just turn that completely off if you're not in a fireteam already, or even if you are.

I dont think addressing this even matter its to a point where im fed up with this game, I found it horrible that when i play PVP and i go 27 kills and 3 deaths and another player on my team goes 1 kill and 19 deaths and i got nothing at all and the one who has 19 deaths get an exotic. This isnt a game, I want to play anymore, where i have to do an exotic bounty, work my ass off to get the exotic bad juju ( which is one of the worst exotic ever and i think about dismatling it every time i look at it) and bad juju cant even finish off an emeny due to its 15 magnize. this is a truly horrible game. I have more to vent about but to sum it up, imma just keep playing this till the new dragon age comes out and after that i will no longer be logging into my destiny account.

Some bonus to the efforts would be very welcome, but Iam sure that Bungies intention it was to not make the rich or powerfull ones more powerfull, but give a chance to the bad players to gear up aswell.
