Hey guys this video shows the full run of this weeks nightfall against the Archon Priest. I cut out the parts of us just running to the next sections to make it only show useful parts of the nightfall strike!!! Hope this helps and make sure to read the annotation pop ups within the video!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Z3EUDA_608 I know this is nightfall thread but here is an under hour hard raid run with some seriously good strats to use!!! We retrieved the relics and ended up defending the middle conflux with only 3 people!!!!!!

I can solo this, who needs a strat lol
-
it's people showing these exploits that is going to make the DLC incredibly hard..

Edited by GandalfTheBald: 10/8/2014 7:56:31 PMI found this one to be one of the easiest nightfalls yet. Aksor went down like a chump getting nailed with all 3 of our supers and full mags / tubes of heavy ammo. The entire fight lasted maybe a minute, and only that long because the ship spawned so quickly we had to take cover because it one shots you. Then we finished the boss with heavy reloads. My guys pretty much completely ignored all the adds cus he died so fast. We just kind of jumped around and pussed out behind a cliff when the ship came. All those burn modifiers on though. So sexy.

Yes just got a legendary solar rocket launcher time to solo this thing!!
-
This is the truth! Completed it solo last night, works like a charm.
-
Just hide under the deck at the end. To the right of where the priest comes out of his shell. He can't kill you. So much easier to run Sun Singer for this in case I die I can just revive.
-
Is it absolutely necessary to be level 28 or higher to do these? I'm almost level 27, and I got one-shotted by a freaking goblin my first minute in. I was able to solo it on non-nightfall level 28 difficulty, but I pretty much instantly gave up hope of soloing it on nightfall difficulty. Am I just doing something wrong, or are nightfall strikes impossible before level 28?

there is a ledge above the entrance to the left that works really well too you can make it up there before you drop into the area, just have to keep an eye out for the drop ship and snipers. You can pick at the priest the entire time but he cant hit you (fires into the wall)

We had two guys with galihorn so adds didn't even spawn it was so freaking disappointing to easy
-
Its funny how almost all of the instances has a "easy weak spot"

1 day played and level 30,nice.

Thanks, commenting to check it later.

Did this last night and it works perfectly even better with a two man team one on the sniper nest and one just above ducked down. Gotta watch the snipers though as they are the only threat.
-
Pretty cool. I'll be doing the nightfall once I do weekly heroic on hardest mode. The snipers nest near the entry way to the boss willcome in handy. For the waves of vex I find the ship to be the best location. You need to move quick to get thwrw but you have a clear line of fire to rack up a lot of critical hits and minimise ammo usage.

Thanks so much for sharing! I haven't done nightfall yet as I'm too scared to solo it and can't seem to get a group for it. Vids like this help me know more about what to do when the time comes. Thanks!

what burn modifier is the Boss, Void ? solar ? or Arc ?
-
In my group we had 2 Voidwalkers and a Bladedancer. We all had Void Specials and Heavies, the Hunter served as Medic/Sniper due to invisibility and the other 2 would make bombing runs or just use guerilla tactics (pop up, snipe Hobgolins, the other would pop up to hit the Hydra, etc). When it came to the Priest we hopped down, cleared the mobs then once the Priest came out we hopped up the ledge we had come from. We'd all take turns hitting the Priest, if one of the Warlocks went down the Bladedancer when invisible to pick them up. Took awhile but it worked.

I want to clarify something also. I am not saying this is the best nor the only strategy you could use to take down Archon. I am just saying this is the strat we used to easily take him down and if you feel like it is solid, use it! If not, no worries what so every and use whatever works for you! I also would and am always interested to hear what kind of strategy people used so I can learn as well!!!

Just completed this after out 3rd try! It was harder actually doing the entire boss section that I thought it would be and everything else before was rather easy. Really enjoyed doing it too. Cheers for the help! Good luck others!
