There's a better spot that you run zero risk of dying or worrying about any of the mobs.
If you go to the right of where he spawns in if you're looking at him there's a little platform. If you look closely there's an opening to get under the platform. If you go to the back corner of the platform there is an area where the ground covers most of your body. The boss will line up right infront of the platform and it's free reign to unload into his head until dead. If you take a few shots you can just back up or crouch until you heal. Your spot is good but this one is definitely faster. Can probably take him out sub 1 minute in this spot.

So that's the spot everyone kept talking about. Didn't need it but good to know because oh its next to that platform was not helpful.

I like the ledge better for soloing, mostly because you can get down if you come under heavy fire and rockets can be shot from there. I tried the under the platform spot and the priest simply walked onto the platform above me and I couldn't hit him. And the shanks are low enough to shoot into the area you are hiding in. With a team it probably would work better since one guy could stay out on the ledge and clear the platform of mobs and get boss attention, but for solo I prefer the ledge myself. Just my two cents.

I tried that exact spot with a friend and we got massacred by shanks. Not so safe lol.

Looks like a sweet little spot, i'll be running a couple of friend through the nightfall tonight so i'll definitely give that one a try,maybe throw up a vid of it in action vs the boss.
