And so my days of Destiny are becoming shorter.
I already explained how disappointing the game is, so I'm not going to reiterate myself. But now, I am not playing Destiny because I am having fun, I play it because I truly hope bungie will make it better. But so far, I don't know what is happening with the company I loved.
They seem to have lost their creative direction. Very poor decisions were made and there was a lack of clear communication during the players and the company. It's hard to see such a jarring shift between halo's epicness and Destiny's mediocrity.
I have not beaten the raid yet, I almost did. But even if I did, what's the point? To get better armor? For what, crucible, where kills depend on lag rather than equipment and skill? And from what I keep hearing, the story was originally going to be much much different....much cooler. But that was cut because it was too good. What happened to you guys?
I mean...you have to be asking yourselves "what the -blam!- have we done with this game...." right? Or do you only care about squeezing as many pennies out of us as you can at the cost of producing quality games? I can't do it anymore. I can't handle the deception, the misleading promises, the nerfed content...Destiny feels like a free-to-play game. It's incomplete....until we purchased the dlc. If you cared about giving the players what they deserve, you would make ALL of that DLC free. No this is not satire, it is not a troll. We deserve the rest of the game. If you truly love your community, you would twist activision's arms until they broke and let you give us our game.
You would also beg Marty and Joe Staten to return and fire the asshole who came up with the grimoire system. Hire more writers, perhaps some of us in the community could take over. I'm being serious, There are those of us who are brimming with ideas for story direction. I don't know what sort of drama is happening at Bungie studios, but get your shit together. I will continue to be a loyal bungie fan.....But Destiny is losing me. I am at the point where I often ask myself "why am I playing this?!?"
The next step is to set it aside and wait for the day you finally get your shit together.
EDIT: To clarify, I am not going to be leaving the forums. I love this community. So for those of you who dislike my presence, tough.

Give it up.. its a great game, the crazy part is it could have been even better. But seeing as season passes and DLC are being sold for as much as games are just shows thats how we get it these days. $60 aint shit anymore

People want this game to hAve 1000 hours of game play it's first month out. People apparently didn't read disclaimers during early videos saying May not be in final product. People seem to forget bungie said ONE DAY we would like people to see things and be able to go there. Halo being epic is only opinion. First 2 and reach was. That's it. Your hundreds of hours in and bored. So put the game down and wait for new content. You guys can't have a million hour game day one, and bungie never promised that day one. You listen to your own drivel, and try to make it truth. Bungie doesn't need to get its shit together, basement dweller. You just need to go so something else. #newageentitledcrybabys

The reason this is so bad is because of Activision. They forced them not to make the story how they originally planned, or so I think. That is why it is bad, and the raid is amazing. I keep getting down to the Atheon part, but I never beat it after 1 week :c, hopefully today or tomorrow c:

1 ReplyThere are already better games out there. Alien Isolation and the awesome Shadow of Mordor game. Those two alone should take up more than a month of your time. Only an hour into Shadow of Mordor and can already tell you the story is better, gameplay is better, and character development is actually there... So if you want to play a game that doesn't reek of "mediocrity", then pick up or pirate those two games. I also hear Forza Horizon 2 is a good game.

I have many ideas for this game and would love to maybe tell them to bungie and just get my name in the credits or something..if they want my ideas they can message me but they won't because anything we do doesn't matter, they made their money and I dot think they even read through these forums as much as they used too.

11 RepliesThe part that irritates me the most, is that there was enough material for a story. There just wasn't much in the way of segues to connect it. Prime example: We find out that Rasputin is alive. We're told it's the biggest news in recent history. So we follow up on this discovery by... Going to the moon. To search for a missing Guardian, whom we've never met or heard of. When the dead ghosts we've been collecting (and our own experiences with Darkness Zones) stand as testament that Guardians go missing all the frigging time. How hard would it have been to have this Guardian meet us when we first arrive at the Tower, show us around a bit, and offer to help us out down the line? Maybe even give us a basic Special weapon. Then, when our ghost informed us that he was missing, we'd actually have a reason to care. Or if that's too danged much trouble, have our Vanguard mentor order us to go. Rather than have the Stranger go on about "I don't even have time to explain why I don't have time to explain", try this "Rasputin sent me. I don't have time to explain." It takes less time to say. It gives us a reason to sit up and pay attention. And it ties many of the dangling narrative threads together into a coherent plot. Make those two small changes, and the story works. Our character is still getting the mushroom treatment, we still don't know much about what's going on, but there's actually a fricking story that makes us want to learn more. While we're doing this, can we give the Queen's Brother a name? Or at least a title other than "The Queen's Brother"?
