Yes we invited a friend yesterday and he got the vex. Nobody in our team got it but at least I have the gear to reach lvl 30 so I can't complain

Yes if you have not played it yet for the week you well get whatever reward is available at the current level... After each boss or checkpoint is a reward. So if you are at the final boss there will only be 1 reward coming your way.

Yes but the journey there is where I got my raid gear. I still haven't beat it and have two pieces of gear and a Gjallarhorn from boss drops and chests
