What does borderlands have that this game doesn't other than a longer more developed story? Borderlands doesn't have factions. Borderlands has a "raid boss" but no raids Borderlands has zero dungeons Borderlands doesn't have public events Borderlands has no social "Hub" (though calling destinys social hub a social hub would be a long shot as well.)

Also forgot to add, in Borderlands when you do a mission you are guaranteed to get something...maybe not the greatest item, but you know you will be rewarded at the end. I do not know how many strikes and patrols I have been on and got nothing during or after :(

A much better loot/drop system. When I play Borderlands it is always exciting to see what you picked up next, with the loot dropping at such a fast rate it is fun to fight through a large area and take a breather and sort through your stuff. In destiny I can run whole areas and maybe get 1 or 2 items....so instead of grinding for loot it feels more like just grinding. Also in Borderlands you have that constant feel of getting stronger and stronger, if you keep playing you are bound to have a pretty constant rate of interesting drops. In destiny once you hit level 20 you could play for hours and have nothing to show for it at the end.

Actually, Tiny Tina's DLC was pretty much entirely a dungeon. It was and adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons in fact.

Collecting crumpets made my day..and Torgue. Cant leave out Torgue.

The social part of borderlands is that you don't have to get in party chat or fireteam chat to talk to someone or while playing it with them. O and the in game chat actually works.

Destiny falls short on some basic features though that Borderlands achieves easily, such as a loot system that creates a variety of guns (Instead of the same 9 weapons) and a set of classes that are actually distinguishable from each other and actually bring a different set of tactics to the game.
