I'm having this same problem on 360 and it is seriously driving me nuts! What console are you playing on? I'm starting to wonder if they put forth more of an effort with the next gen's and said screw you 360 and PS3!

The problem is present on all 4 consoles, as far as I can tell. Next-Gen, Last-Gen, Playstation, Xbox, it doesn't matter; the Destiny servers are a fricking zoo no matter what console you're on.

Yeah... LITERALLY! It's really a shame too. Like you, I had no problems with BETA... it's so strange that going "LIVE" would cause this much chaos. The main issue I see is this... they keep coming out with all these so called "updates", but I have not seen ONE that addresses the server issues. When I do actually get to play, the majority of player levels are already in the 20's... HOW??? I don't get it!
