No your owed a head smack. Bungie isn't going to apologize because you too silly to believe them when they said this game would play out over ten years...or recognize that this game is only it's first chapter.
That's your fault, not theirs.

I agree with you. The people on the internet that just hate and hate and hate are getting old. No destiny isn't quite what I expected, but it is still an excellent game with some of the best FPS mechanics I've ever played and a wonderfully crafted world, if not fully realized at this point, with a ton of potential. Aside from some admittedly poor writing (or was it intentionally lacking for some reason?) and the lack of customization of crucible matches, the game doesn't offer any less than any Other shooter has offered recently. This game is a little less than what some people expected it to be and they are throwing infant tantrums. It's a 10 year project folks, there's a lot to come.
-
Usually a 1st chapter explains some things. This was a $60 preface that explained jack sh!t. I extrapolated just as much from the Beta, as I have the $60 copy sitting in my console. That says a lot.
-
..and this first chapter did...to those who were paying attention and made an effort to engage the world. The story is set up to unfold in an experiential way so that LIVE the events of the world, rather than having some narrorator lecture to you about them. if you just ran through the missions and didn't make any sort of effort to explore or read about the world you were in (Grimoire)...you're not going to know very much. JUST like your character wouldn't know much about the world he found himself in, if he behaved in the same fashion. Even worse if you ran off to the Crucible at level 5 and never stepped out again. But If you pay attention to the things the NPCs say around you. The things your Ghost says to you during missions. The captions to your weapons and armor. The contents of yoru Grimoire cards. A pretty clera understanding of hte world in which your Guardian finds himself...and the nature of the war in which he is fighting emerges. Just like your Guardian would, if he were doing the same thing. you are only going to get out of this, what you put into it. ...and Bungie is showing little interest in doing any spoonfeeding.
-
I'm sorry, but, I've concluded that you're delusional and will no longer waste my time replying to you from here on out.
-
Ahh...yes. The "Declare Victory and Leave" strategy. I'm not "delusional" I just have more patience than you, and am willing to WORK to understand the story. ...and have been rewarded for it with what is a very good story to this point, and the potential to become a great one.
-
No character development. No thickening of a plot. No sense of immersion. No, I need to try and read my Grimore cards- outside of the game... to try and figure out what in the actual f*ck is going on. Wake from dead- kill stuff Kill more stuff- get sparrow Kill more stuff- jumpship to speaker. Kill more stuff- unknown exo bitch. Kill more stuff- same exo bitch. Kill even more stuff- queen and brother. Kill some more stuff- story complete. "Rich Cinematic Storytelling" On the f&cking box.. Where? Because apparently they didn't have time to explain why they didn't have time to write a mother f*cking story..

You're a dumbass. Straight up -blam!-tard. I know it's safe to assume you're a child between the ages of 10-13, do some research before you post.
-
I'm actually a professionally educated 46 year-old....and I did do my research. Unlike the complainers. Can I spin the Wheel again, Pat??
-
That's the great thing about the internet, you can be who you want big boy. I'll say again do some research.

Edited by kellygreen45: 10/2/2014 7:42:38 PMThis isn't Wonderland, Alice. Saying the same stupid thing over and over again won't make it true. 1. I followed Bungie's social media marketing campaign for this game for 4 months before the game was released, on an almost daily basis. I also put in nearly 60 hours of game play in the beta. So I was VERY clear on what Bungie planned to do with this IP, and how it would develop over time. Up to this point, Bungie has done exactly what they said they would do. 2. Your assumption that I have to *pretend* to be something that I"m not, seems to assume that I really GIVE a rat's @ss about impressing some random person on the internet who can't seem to express himself for more than two sentences at a time without either swearing, or firing off some other insult. Don't take yourself so seriously...because I certainly don't take you that seriously. I'm just showing you how clueless you are...and yet seem to fail to realize.
-
As did I. Along with disc locked content, butchered story, deleted factions, half the game was removed because it wasn't going to finish on time. The game fell apart in the final year of production. Tell me again the research you did lol.
-
Clearly you've never read an End-User's License Agreement. ...and the game is only getting started. Oh, and by the way. I'm old enough to realize that anonymous sources are seldom objective or reliable. So I tend not to take what they have to say too seriously. Besides, had they run witht the story they claimed Destiny was "supposed" to be...I never would have played the game. Because it was terrible and cliched....and the absolute wrong way to present the ideas they were trying to. So they did the right thing in scrapping it. Which sometimes has to happen with creative works. You try an idea...and you just find out that itwon't work. or won't work the way youw want it to.
-
he's talking about the 60$ we dropped for half a game. And he's right. are you a fan boy or what?
-
Is that the only thing you have in your literary arsenal? "Fanboy"? That's... pretty weak.
-
Edited by kungfoo559: 10/2/2014 3:32:01 PMIt's the only reason I can think of for the lines of reasoning I see besides, shill. But I don't think bungie is shilling their own forums. They can just mod it. And yes I'm beginning to hate fanboys I know a few of these people IRL fighting about ps4 and Xbone like it's their religion. Stupidity at it finest. Companies sell products to consumers if the company forgets who pays them you let em know then leave them. Loyalty to companies that don't put their customers first because of some misguided sense of their identity being tied to that company if retarded and needs to stop
-
Not a fanboy or a shill. Just a long time PC gamer who understands that what you are whining about is pretty standard stuff for PC MMOs and RPGs. Just someone who paid attention to what Bungie said the game would be and not what my imagination HOPED it would be. Just some with a more realistic notion of how little money $60 actually is.

-blam!-ing casual.

-blam!-ing neckbeard.

Kiss your mother with that mouth of yours?
-
Its my fault that its missing content? I didn't make it. I didn't make promises and not keep them. A head smack? Are you going to be the one to give it to me?
-
No...because straightening you out and dealing with your misguided sense of entitlement is (fortunately) not MY responsibility. Bungie has nothing to "apologize" (get over yourself) for. So I suggest that you don't hold your breath waiting for one. Unless you like the look of deep BLUE in your skin tones.
-
I can smell your elitism
-
Yeah, and I can smell your BS. What Bungie is doing is STANDARD for an initial launch of an MMO....and hearing all the whining about "missiong content" is getting both tiresome and childish. Bungie TOLD us what to expect. If you choose to ignore it...or not believe it. That is YOUR fault, not Bungie's.
-
It's standard to falsely advertise a game? If so, does that make it right? God, I don't think so but clearly you're so balls deep in Bungie you don't give a shit about the totally BS story The gameplay is absolutely amazing, the story is so broken i believe you could write a better one. Take that as you may. You know the story blows
-
There was no false advertisement. Like I stated above, I followed their ad campaign for nearly 4 months on a daily basis...and logged a LOT of hours on the beta. To anyone with any expereince playing MMOs or RPGs (and I have about 20 years of it with both) what Bungie planned to do was pretty clear. They were going to make a FPS that was not level-restricted, but existed in an more open environment...and they were going to blend in elements of RPGs and MMOs. So you got to play a character existing in a persistent on-line world. ...adn that the world would evolve over time in a modular fashion---again like an MMO----and tha tthe story of thatworld would play out over the 10 years that Bungie planned to support the game(s). So far, Bungie has done exactly what they said they would ...and no I DON"T "konw the story blows" ....because it doesn't. The STORY is the only reason I'm even HERE. As a general rule I dont' even LIKE FPSs. I was never a fan of Halo---the game. But I WAS a fan of the WORLD that Halo created and read ALL the novels it spun off. Including the Forerunner's trilogy. Destiny---as a game---was NOWHERE on my radar screen as a long-time PC gamer who went back to consoles with this generation of hardware. In fact I had NO interest in thegame until I had a chance to hear about the world they were planing on creating for it...and the theme's they were positioning it to address. Unlike you, I simply realize that what we have is nothing more than the first chapter of a "BOOK" that will have AT LEAST another 7 chapters. Unlike You, I have the patience to WAIT for the story to unfold. Bungie has shown that they are very good at understanding how to properly pace a story. You, OTOH, have no such track record. :)
