The game is beautiful. It draws you in initially. The grinding for better stuff is fun at first, the strikes are fun at first, heck everything is fun at first. Actually I liked everything about the game, until I decided to finally finish the story mode. And with how ended, combined with the lack of story leading to it...the game just hit a big wall. It's incomplete. It's incoherent. It's flat. It's unfinished, heck it's not even really started. The story is not only nonsensical, it's basically nonexistent. Ghost revives you, you get told to go kill aliens, you get told to go kill other aliens, and then get told to go kill even different aliens. But why? Who knows! Just do it! You're a robot mindlessly following orders for no real reason, oh wait you're trying to protect the last city on earth because the aliens are outside the walls trying to get in the tower! I don't see any aliens trying to get in the tower. I need to go in orbit to get to Russia from the tower, even though the tower is in the last city on Earth. I get a heroes welcome when I kill the heart in the black garden which I only killed because the Traveler told me. Who is the Traveler? Don't know! Don't care! I'm a robot who only does what everyone else is telling me for no reason other than they told me to do it. What's not to love about this game though?

  • If you listened to half the dialogue you would probably know. Maybe turn on subtitles?

  • I've listened to every bit of dialogue to the point of reciting every word before the words are spoken and his point is still valid.

  • How is that? I know exactly why I am killing Hive on the moon and Cabal on Mars. I know the basics of who or what the Traveler is. We don't know where the City is on Earth, and orbital flight is faster than atmospheric for the most part. And you probably got a hero's welcome for destroying the heart in the Black Garden because it was suffocating the Traveler, and now the Light can return. So no, is point is not completely valid.

  • Tell me, why are you fighting the Hive and the Cabal, next the Fallen then tell me how the Black Garden had any affect on the Traveler then tell me, then tell me how we actually destroyed the Heart of the Garden without interacting with it at all. Also if it's the last city and constantly under attack why is there no point at which we defend it or even hear about anything specific happening? Also since you know the basics on what the Traveler is, tell me, what is it? Not what can it do or what has it done, what is it?

  • This game is like Fight Club. The first rule of the Traveler is you do not talk about the Traveler. The first rule of the Speaker is you do not ask questions.
