official apology
Just wanted to apologize to Bungie for all the douchebags In these forums with no grasp of reality for the gaming industry. the game is amazing and I can't wait to continue the journey with you guys keep up the awesome work
Edited: geeze this is getting a lot of negativity didn't mean to offend anyone. Anyways, so I don't have to explain this any more I have no problem with opposing opinions in fact I welcome them, this post was in reference to the way some people are communicating said opinion. Understandably I called those people douchebags so this probably sounds pretty hypocritical, this was not the intention. If you spent your money on a product and have legitimate complaints, please by all means scream them to the -blam!-ing rooftops so they can be resolved, but for the people running around calling everyone else names that enjoy the game Instead of simply allowing someone to have their opinion, you guys genuinely suck, and due to a lot of that in these forums its left a bad taste In a lot of people's mouths hence the apology post.
Edit: flipping the situation vice versa if you are doing the same thing to people who do not enjoy the game you are in the exact same boat

Everyone can have their own opinion , I didn't say anything bad about your opinions summed up: I personally like the game, some people do not like the game and that's cool too, there are some people on the forum that are jerks to people for no reason hence the douchebaggery, I'm not apologizing FOR people, I am apologizing because of people. Jesus Christ!! There is a god damn -blam!-ing comma separating the part where I'm apologizing for the douchebags and the part where I am voicing my opinion, I'm really trying to bear with people and understand maybe they did not read it in that fashion, but damn it's getting old.
Also a lot of people are like "hurrdurr don't speak for me" , are you serious? are you a douchebag? I mean I guess no one would know better than you but I wasn't specifically calling anyone out so I don't understand the butthurt there.

5 Replies"No grasp of reality for the gaming industry". Ok, fair enough. I may not be a game dev, or even a game rep, But I have been playing long enough to see a good game when I see one. Yes - The game is unfinished. Yes - What [i]is[/i] there is amazing. Unfortunately, it's what [i]isn't[/i] there that's causing the problem. I'm not going to go into the "What if's" and "Could have been's" of the storyline, that's been done to death by now. There is also so much missing from the gameplay as well. The loot system - admittedly yes, this is being worked on. Levelling - being based on the loot system, this process has only become harder by the fact that the "Loot Cave" has been patched. Re-playability - Seeing as the storyline is only about 5-6 hours long (at best), the rest of the gameplay is rinse-and-repeat: Crucible, Strikes and Patrols are all just that. Doing the same thing over and over again. Compared to the Halo universe, this is nothing more than a shell. This is what my problem with the game is. And this is where I believe a lot of people's negative opinions are coming from. The quality of these may differ, but like some of the other posters have voiced, name-calling does more harm than good.

Who died and made you ambassador? You don't have to apologise on the communities behalf, bungie has dealt with this before, it knows each decision brings hate and love from both sides of the coin. It can't appease everyone, but it is going to try, hopefully :)

Not sure that I would have wrapped it up as an "apology", but he does have a point about people not knowing the industry. All you have to do I look at all of the "Is the 1.0.2 patch out yet?" threads to see that people don't understand the software development life cycle, particularly around on-going support. Bungie may think that all of these suggestions that we are posing are the greatest ideas and direction for the game possible, but, if they have any kind of real impact on the architecture of the game or affect a core system that interacts with multiple aspects of the game, they aren't going to be released any time soon. Even smaller changes that only effect database tables (e.g., drop rates, loot tables, weapon stats, etc.) require extensive testing to make sure that the changes don't have unintentional impacts to other parts of the game. And then there is the certification processes that each platform requires the patches to go through before release. I've been involved in system development for a long time and, for most customer facing applications, large code changes are released (at the very fastest) on three month intervals, to account for analysis, design, coding, and testing of the change. Smaller changes can sometimes be done in monthly releases . . . database and property based changes (i.e., no changes to actual code) are sometimes released "as available" (this is, almost certainly, the kind of changes that we are seeing in the first two patches). All that is to say, three weeks in, the only changes that you are going to see are little ones, that affect a very small subset of the game functionality (1.0.X patches). If they are planning a smaller code update (a 1.X.0 release), it is likely in process right now, but still a few weeks out, at a minimum. The large changes (X.0.0 releases) are not likely to drop any sooner than the end if the year (possibly tied to the DLC release?), if it even comes that early. So TL;DR - Bungie seems to want to do right by the game . . . they also seem to want to do right by us (incorporate our feedback), but they simply cannot physically do the things that the community is asking for as fast as many people are demanding that they do them . . . it's just not possible. And continuing to try to demand that they meet impossible schedules, shows just what the OP was stating . . . that we, as player base, do not understand the gaming industry.

great post I got sucked in thinking this was another whine post about the game and was pleasantly surprised. Bungie has done a great job and soon all that will be left on these forums will be the people that can see that and are willing to have discussions on what should be improved next.

Well said, it wouldn't shock me if game company's slowly stopped making game an called this the last Gen well with.... - The way people act (pricing / resolution / quantity / ect) - Company's losing millions left an right - Baby sitting people that can't act there shoe size - Ideas running short or out if they haven't already - People only get tweets / views / likes if they have something hateful to say or report Would be a same we would have to find more real life friends then digital ones. Gaming was something fun to do just to pass time now it's a fake war that has no winner.... Thanx Internet you have messed everything up with your forums an videos an websites.
