I do understand your point but doesn't the use of the faction specific guardian armor serve the same purpose by taking that reputation that would have gone to the vanguard and putting it toward the faction of your choosing?

  • Once you put on a faction cape for your Guardian. Your vanguard and crucible both rank up that faction. After level 3 you are guaranteed either a legendary item or Acendent material. Than You will get something after each level. You got up twice as fast because it counts everything you do in the game.

  • Hmm...I don't believe so, if you're talking about the Vanguard armor each Class gets from they're Vanguard trainers. For instance, if I don't like the armor choices from the Warlock Vanguard, but I do from Future War Cult I would have to gain Faction with them through Crucibles, not Patrol missions. So I don't think the faction specific guardian armor actually would specifically address what I am posing as a question, but it maybe just me :) I don't mind grinding in Patrols for faction with the Vanguard Quartermaster, however I do think it odd when I hear: "This is a personal request from the Future War Cult...," complete the mission and get reputation points, but when I go to the FWC Quatermaster there's nothing to show for it LOL! In any case, I am sure it is by design yet it would be nice :)

  • Yeah, but if you take it from that "immersion" angle that Bungie loves to bring up and not follow through on, a request from a specific faction should give rep to that faction primarily, with a smaller portion given to the overseeing faction, the Vanguard. Say you have a kid who is struggling with math and another kid comes to help yours figure it out; your kid will think more highly of that other kid, but so will you on a lesser scale.

  • Good point. I don't think it would be too difficult for this change to be made, but if there is no demand for it and most players are content with the current system I can see it remaining also.
