I found this information to be quite interesting. There is a possibility that there are bonuses to the emblems that are sold by the speaker. My information comes from destinynews.net just so the credit is out there. I don't know who the exact author is otherwise I would include their name here also. So here is a list of the emblems and their associated possible buff:
Emblems:
Blessing of IV - Higher drop chance from enemies on Mars (Cabal)
Blessing of the Ancients - Higher drop chance from Majors or Ultras
Blessing of the Gifted - Higher drop rate/cryptarch conversion chance
Blessing of the Joined - Higher drop chance when in a group
Blessing of the Knight - Higher drop chance from Hive
Blessing of the Sentinel - Higher drop chance from Vex
Blessing of the Skeptic - Higher loot chance on end game rolls
Blessing of the Speaker - Higher drop chance the higher Light level you are
Blessing of the Unmade - Chance for more drops from chests
Blessing of the Watcher - Higher chance of loot from end game rolls and chests
Blessing of the Zealot - Higher drop chance from The Fallen
Blessing of Worlds - Chance of more materials looted
My recommendation is to pick one that suits your main goal and try it out. Comments on your findings would be very helpful.
*EDIT*
If you did not already see in the comments below, the original author of the piece payed our thread a visit and informed us that Bungie made an off-the-record confirmation that the Speaker emblems do NOT provide hidden bonuses. Although with the many changes in this weeks patch increasing the drop rate and redemption rate, some of those buffs wouldn't really matter that much.

necrobump, but it's fake.

There was a big thread on here this morning, and a guy was running the same mission repeatedly with different emblems and posting the results. It looked a little inconclusive but I think it would make interesting game mechanic. The game could be full of little things for the community to discover over time.
-
The blessing of the speaker actually works! Been using it since yesterday and iv'e been plowed with engrams! AND 2 LEGENDARY ENGRAMS IN 1 DAY!
-
Awesome if true, but why hide the bonus info?
-
They're fake
-
I figured this was placebo effect, but with more motes than I can use, I bought the "Gifted"...and engram drops on that character are waaaaay more frequent than my other two, where I've constantly had to grind more for wire and plating. Might be random, but I'd recommend spending the motes.
-
I was the original author, Bungie confirmed with me and a few others that these emblems hold no hidden buff. Bummed me out but o well
-
I think i say something different....NOT a bullshit....
-
Here is a video guide detailing some of the effects of the speaker's emblems.

I'm going to try it. You never know. Plenty of people say it works. And why would bungie tell us if they did something or not. Should I remind everyone that they told us we were going to get a completely different game than what we got. And if they let it out that they did give higher drop chances everyone would be equipping them. So I'll try the blessing of the watcher and see what happens. What's the worst that could happen.

Edited by Clay64: 12/30/2014 6:37:19 PMI Know that this has been debunked, but I threw on blessing of the speaker just for kicks and in the same day i got a legendary engram and two legendaries from blues.

Edited by N-miser: 9/29/2014 3:11:02 PMThis is not true, destinynews has already added an edit saying the have info from bungie that the emblems do not do anything.

I know this has been debunked, but it really does feel like it works. I had my Iron Banner emblem equipped while I was glimmer farming and didn't get much. When I equipped BotG, I started getting more engrams. I'm going to try the cabal one just in case it gives me more network keys. Motes are worthless anyway so I might as well try it.
-
This has been debunked by many, myself included. It's all bs
-
Blessing of the Skeptic is awesome! It rains engrams! Blues turn into legendaries and end of game rewards get legendary stuff and even rare armor for other classes (I'm a warlock) and I'd never seen that before. Totally worth a few motes!
-
not real.
-
Thats pretty neat
-
Reminds me of the items in WoW that was supposedly to give you better loot chances but were just "fun" items to have. More for the collector per say. This could be the same thing but who knows. Even if Bungie says its not true... maybe it is and they just dont want us to really to know. Oh the conspiracy theories are running a muck !
-
It feels like when I use gifted I get billions of green engrams out of my enemies. Feels like. Could just be a placebo.
-
So this info comes from here, it's been taken to reddit and other sources, and you, bring it back here??? for what? Couldn't we just contribute to the original thread??
-
I forget if I already posted in this thread or not, but whatever the case, I'll say it.....and it is: This thread could come in handy. I bookmarked it. (: In more recent news, the Blessing of the Speaker wasn't available last time I checked (few minutes ago). The highest level I can equip thus far is Level 28. Being able to get more loot just by being a high level would feel convenient.
-
i think it modulates the personal loot stream. so, only a little bit. but the text says it.
-
Thread has been updated on their site that these do not provide bonuses (Off the Record).
-
This better work because I just got blessing of the gifted. When the patch goes live I hope I get some good exotics and legendarys
