Yes me too! I'm also in NZ. On xbox360 and xbox One.
Baboon every night when traffic is high.
Usually followed by centipede.
Who is your ISP?

I am playing on ps3 my isp is vodafone I am using a vdsl connection if that makes a difference.
-
Vdsl should be fine. Have you guys tried the ping test.net? I got a grade b.
-
Just tryed that got a B and my ping was 36 me. I ran this from my phone over WiFi so my console which is wired and port forwarded should be even better. The error occurs at peak internet usage times. It is most likely caused by Vodafone packet shaping of international traffic.
-
It could be voda but I had no packet loss even in peak times when I was getting baboon every 30 seconds. My thoughts are high internet traffic and high destiny traffic to the server we all share with Australia in Australia.

Mines vodafone aswell

Edited by Chopping Bored: 9/29/2014 12:05:50 AMI am Vodafone VDSL also, same problem between 5-7pm the Baboon errors start, and progressively happen more often until around 11-12am. Have spoken to Vodafone, they are trying to help, but they don't believe it's their problem, they are however currently monitoring my line for any spikes or drop outs. They did mention their VDSL router is apparently not ideal for gaming... Have opened up all the required ports in the router, given my Xbox a fixed address, tried DMZ and turning off wireless and still happens. If anyone finds a solution for this then that would be greatly appreciated! Alternatively, if I somehow get it working, I will post it here. Edit: as a side note, I have a friend on Orcon who suffers minimal Baboon errors, and a friend on Spark who suffers no errors...

I have the exact same issue. Makes it hard to do anything except patrol missions at certain times of the night. Am on Vodafone VDSL with the Huawei HG659. You said you opened up all the required ports. I couldn't do that as the HG659 has reserved ports in the 7000 range that Destiny needs. How did you open the ports? Any ideas on what would be a good VDSL router for games?
-
I don't know a lot about port forwarding so I don't know if this even did what it was supposed to but I just opened the ports around the restricted ones... doesn't seem like Bungie are taking responsibility for it, and Vodafone certainly aren't, yet the issue is definitely a combination of both
-
You can open the ports just don't touch the one they say is reserved. Open all the others and it may help. It didn't help me.

Edited by FasterChief NZ: 9/29/2014 2:28:49 AMAlso what did Vodafone say exactly? And are you adsl or vdsl?
-
VDSL They said it's probably the router but they don't have anything to do with router support. It's the HG659. When I pointed out that's the router they provided they tried to help but all that involved was resetting their end.
