A 10 YEAR GAME

There has been a healthy amount love and hate on forums when it comes to Destiny, and the longevity of the title many of us eagerly snapped up the day of release. But whether you love this game or hate it at least have your facts straight if you are going to argue about its 10 year plan. Destiny, as a single title, has no intention of being a ten year game. And is only set to have 2 DLC expansions. Both with smaller side story campaigns. (How you get smaller than what we already saw, IDK) The '10 year' everyone has been clamoring about refers to a 10 year contract between Bungie and Activision. As of now there are set to be 4 Destiny titles (including this one) to be released over the next 10 years, each with 2 DLC packs. With the Narrative arc running through all 4 games. BUT WAIT THERES MORE! In a recent interview with Official Xbox Magazine, Jonty Barnes claimed 'that was just a framework and that we should not necessarily expect three more Destiny titles – or that everything will be over in a decade'. (Whatever the hell that means) “So what I’ll say to you is: we said that we were a ten-year game, and both Activision and Bungie have committed to being wholly behind the large effort, and it’s a large investment for both sides. I don’t think there’s any set date – ten years is just representing the go-forward presence and the way that we think about doing things.” If you want to look at the Bungie/Activision contract yourself you can find it here: http://destiny.wikia.com/wiki/Bungie-Activision_Contract The article I sourced this from: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/sep/15/destiny-the-next-ten-years So love it or hate it at least now you know what 60+ bucks got you...

  • 60 bucks has gotten me a game that I have sunk around 100 hours into so far three weeks after its release. Even if I dont like some parts of the game it has earned the 60 dollars I threw at it. Hell I could spend 60 bucks at a bar in 45 minutes. People need to stop screaming about the game. You spend your 60 dollars get over it. If you don't like it then I suggest you move on and leave the people who do like it alone. Shadows of mordor is coming out in a few days I'm sure they will all be let down by that one as well due to unrealistic expectations.
