This pocket infinity took me 2 weeks to get through the exotic bounty. It was a pain i in the arse to find 10 rare or better fusion rifles to dismantle. I was so excited to use this weapon after i completed my bounty only to find out it's pure crap.
I also have a legendary fusion rifle called Light/Beware. This fusion rifle is a beast at least in PVE. I used this fusion rifle to complete the last part of the exotic bounty and got it done in about a hour.
The range on Pocket Infinity is short, the charge time is horrendously long which easily puts you in danger of being killed and compared to my legendary fusion rifle it doesn't do as much damage due to its lower impact rating. I don't judge a book by its cover but even after it's upgraded with its perks it so wouldn't make it a viable option to user for serious matches and high level strikes. For me this weapon is garbage and soon to be dismantled. I wish Bungie thought more about the balance of these exotic items compared to the legendary items. Smh...
How do you guys feel about this fusion rifle if you have it?
Update
I have dismantled my Pocket Infinity fusion rifle. I don't like the stats or functions. I've come to terms with the fact the gun is just not for me.
-
Took me like 1 day m8

Everyone who's dismantling exotics after comparing to legendaries seems to be missing a key point: Exotics will be upgradable after the level cap increase, so they'll still be useful, while you'll be discarding your level 20 / attack 300 legendaries because they'll be obsolete. This doesn't take away from the current advantage of some legendaries while we're capped at attack 300, but you may be kicking yourself down the road when we're able to upgrade current exotics to attack 330 (or whatever.) Or maybe not, Plan C seems better to me and it'll also be an upgradeable exotic.

Ok first off the gunsmith sells rare fusion riffles you could have just bought 10! You have to check back every couple hours but he sells then. That is the first sign of your stupidity. Second sign is that other then plan c there is no other fusion rifle even close to pi!

I love my Light/Beware, but this is a gun I want to level. I can live with the charge time, and that full auto perk sounds redonkulous. L/B aint going anywhere though. Its far too good...

So, you literally charge for 1.5 seconds and blasta out 8 shots in 2 seconds..I beat the nightfall strike by myself on my level 27.

That awkward moment it likely was going to be one of the exotics that received a buff.

Edited by Reap200: 9/27/2014 10:03:34 AMfully upgraded exept for attack, it is amazing in crucible if you use the enhanced battery and 2nd type of ballistics you get, you just need to be decent at controlling its recoil. as far as being lower in the charge time and impact, i dont like it but i understand why it is needed when you get full auto for it. also this thing melts bosses with an 8 round battery, litterally. I took it into the crucible and got a triple kill with one charge. Idk what you're talking about, but I love the pocket infinity.
-
You know what exotic fusion rifle does live up to its rep the plan c that is such a beast to bad I don't have it
-
It only took me and hour and a half to get it. I got lucky and the gunsmith had rare fusion rifles.
-
I'm nearly in total agreement. It really doesn't live up to an exotic. I feel like it's perks don't compensate for all the other really bad combination of stats. My 77 wizard totally outperforms it. And full auto is still useless when the charge time is so long for a fusion rifle with such low impact. I put it with the thorn and bad juju as nothing more than ascendant energy for my better exotics.
-
Seems like a pretty decent fusion rifle to me
-
I understand your opinion, and respect it. However, my opinion, is that you seriously underestimated the weapon, and should most definitely not have dismantled it.
-
I thought the same thing at first, but I understood why it has a long charge time after you get the full auto upgrade and ammo boost to 8. Once it goes off it can wipe out a tightly packed group with ease firing all 8 (to 12) shots super fast with no additional charge time for the consecutive fires. If anything it also works as a double tap fusion rifle launching two blasts per charge time if you let go of the trigger in a timely manner.
-
Best burst weapon in the game. Amazing when you need to dps hard and fast . You just haven't upgraded it.
-
Yup. The Plan C is king. Ridiculous range for a fusion rifle and great damage. Bye Bye minotaurs and captains
-
My friend got all of the upgrades for this. Now he stays at the top of the team, lol.
-
I got mine the day I got the bounty for the fusion rifles do like I did buy them from weapon Smith when he sells blue ones 2k each. ;) I love it so far but still love my Ice Breaker more although it does good In pvp if you are close.... People getting smart tho you see me with it you kill me a few feet away an I can't kill you.
-
Works great for me. Just got it fully upgraded tonight, actually. I had to experiment with it a bit, but after pairing soft ballistics with enhanced battery this thing absolutely wrecks. Range has never been a problem for me; in fact, I'm kind of surprised how far it reaches. I can take out a Cabal from mid range no problem. One shot and done. But where this weapon really shines is when you get up in a Captain's or any other high level enemy's face. Make sure to pull slightly down on the stick that controls your y axis so as to control the recoil and then let that bad boy go. It's a fire hose of destruction at that point. There aren't many things that can take Pocket Infinity's full 8 round magazine, at full auto, doing 300 damage, and live to tell the tale. That said, it's currently getting brushed aside in favor of my Suros. That's my go to now. Hopefully they don't nerf it too bad. I'm enjoying the hell out of that AR.
-
I love it. Full Auto on any high level enemy and they get wrecked. Not so useful in pvp but I don't care about that because I'm not lame and like using my primary.
-
This gun is op as hell... Pocket infinity + enhanc d battery. Just hold the trigger and it goes full auto, and returns some shots that miss back to the mag.
-
I'm still collecting the rare fusion rifle cores to get it. 2 plus weeks in I'm on 6.
-
Once the pocket infinity is done charging it keeps firing full auto if you upgrade it right
-
Combine the perks "pocket infinity" and "perfect balance," game set.
-
Yeah man it sits in my vault fully upgraded waiting to see if they buff it along with bad juju and thorn useless wpns
-
I use it for Atheon and it was my bread winner for this week's nightfall and weekly. I like it.
